Re: Well, how did everyone do?
How long has this wind been blowin' anyway? It seems like it's been blowin' strong for about four days straight now.
Hit the spring fed farm pond on Saturday around 2:00 pm...fishin' was slow to say the least, tried for crappie with a beetle spin, nothing. Tried for bass with lipless cranks and shallow runners, still nothin' (man it was tough). Finiall switched off to a black-n-blue jig-n-pig, SCORE! Caught one decent keeper on this and hooked two more that came unbuttoned. Switched off again to a weightless Finn-S Fish, SCORE! Caught one on this and hooked into another that came unbuttoned.
All in all it felt good just to get out. I had to go, been to much storm clean up around home and to much work at work for me, I HAD to go!
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
from the looks of the reports Kentucky is holding up to it's end of the bargain..............
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
Fri. on the river one small blue around 20# and one cigar...boy the sauger just haven't been there this year. Yesterday at my nieghbors farm pond, caught around 10 largemouth on stick baits and floating rapalas, two nicest being 4 1/2# and 3# we also got in to some real nice crappie , largest was 16in. And I'm pretty sure I hooked my 9 year old daughter on pond fishing...If I can just get her to stop reeling them all the way up to the end eye..LOL
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
My son and I fished at Nolin, fished the Cabin Fever tournament, and won it with 4 fish 12.25lbs, caught fish all day, probaly 20 total, I lost 2 keepers, one about 3lbs, and the other I never saw, but it was big, and pulled me under the boat, and I could not get it turned, but man was my line singing, sure would of liked to of saw her. We caught all of our fish on a crankbait, and caught one on a sweet beaver flipping wood. All of the fish except one came in less than 4' of water. Meet Terry Adolph (Raincheck) super nice guy, and I was happy to meet another guy from the message board. Boat ran great for the first time out, but man I got it filthy, but, it was great to get out and enjoy the day, would of been better if the wind wasnt blowing 30mph, water temp was 49-52 degrees where I was at, and the water looked pretty good.
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
Fished cedar creek yesterday and didn't have much luck. Water was pretty stained and temps were from 46.5-47 where we were. When it gets real windy I always struggle on the lakes.
With this warm weather I was dying to soremouth a few so I went to a big pond in Boonesboro. Lost count of how many fish I caught on a jerkbait. Even managed a couple on a jig with the wind in my face.
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
faught the hurricane winds today on a local lake until the trollin motor died...managed 3 fsh with 2 keepers though in about 3 hours of fishing...one around 4lbs,another 2lber and the other was a little dink...all fish caught around deep grass on a red eye shad either yo-yoing or reeling fst enough to keep the bait vibratin http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u130/bmoberly/001-6.jpg
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
Took my girl to see Watchmen (awesome) and when we got out the clouds had cleared and the sky was blue, so we stopped by Cherokee pond. Finally broke by losing streak and caught on 12" or so largemouth on old reliable, a silver panther martin with the orange hackle tip. Yes! Go Cards!
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
Grayson Lake got skunked. However it was wonderful to be back on the lake. Pitched a jig most of the day and tried a few crankbaits. Water temp 45 degrees.
Re: Well, how did everyone do?
Went to Patoka and headed way way way up the creek (thats a job on patoka with the timber) found unseasonably warm water 54 degrees, caught 4 bass only 1 a keeper, 1 crappie and 1 wiper. All fish were 4ft or less, all on spinnerbait. Heavy winds all day, little to no rain, and the afternoon the sun was out, awesome weather, felt good to be out.

Nice fish! It was a chunker. I know many of guys who wished they would have caught one like that this weekend.
