Re: The NEW and REVISED healthcare bill
This thread was not about Cap and Trade but since I brought it up, I would like to know if you think we continue to do nothing how the pollution will get better? IMO it has to start somewhere. I am 42 yrs old and I can remember a time when you could get a drink out of any stream in KY. I cant imagine doing that now, can you? Is the bill perfect, absolutely not but you have to 1st recognize that there is a problem and then deal with it. The alternative is sticking our head in the sand and hoping it will go away. I have 2 children and want the best for them as you do your family im sure. In the 35 yrs or so I can remember look how far we have came and what will the next 35 yrs hold for our children and us. I hope the pollution doesnt double like in China, do you?
Obviously, you know everyone on the planet wants contaminants eliminated from our waterways. You said it, the bill isn't perfect. But to use the we got to start somewhere arguement as a motivation for passing this bill is ludicrous. Thats like saying we don't like car accidents so we are all gonna drive bicycles and hope the rest the world follows our lead...not gonna happen. This is not just about clean water. If it was it might actually get more support. Alot of it is about who has money invested in "clean energy" and in "green technology" ...GE....Al Gore..etc.
Making our country compete in a global economy with the handicap it encumbers us with is like putting a one legged man in a butt kickin contest. Who would you put your money on?

Do you know why China's pollution doubled? Because the same sorry pieces of crap that are trying to pass the Cap and Trade bill outsourced all our jobs offshore.
I am about an hour from the Ohio river. I wouldnt mind drinking a beer with you but I wouldnt like to take a dip in the Ohio cause of all the pollutants in there but ( CAP AND TRADE ) will hopefully help clean that water up. You keep calling me a troll. It doesnt bother me but why do you insist I am one? I agreed with you about U of L football. Should I agree with you on everything to not be considered a troll? Who are the many who think so?
I don't want you to agree with me just try anf be respectful and I'll do the same. Your posts are very inflamatory.
Things like here maybe you can learn something. Read what you post if it's sounds like you are being a smartass it's because you probably are. We bicker on here all the time without calling out each others IQ.

Are you referring to the NAFTA vote? If so heres how that went. In the house 102 dems and 132 repubs voted for it. 156 dems and 43 repubs voted against it. In the senate 27 dems and 34 repubs voted for it and 28 dems and 10 repubs voted against it. Now who did you say the sorry piece of crap was?;)

This is getting good! It reminds me of a disagreement between me and the cat last night. He kept coming to my bed "meowing" and then going to the back door. After about 4 tries at 3:00 a.m., I got up and opened the door; he looked around, backed up and wouldn't go out. I closed the door and went back to bed. Same thing again; I go back to bed and, about the time my head hit the pillow, "MEOW!" I got out of bed, opened the door and walked outside with the cat, intending to make him sleep outside for the rest of the night. Just as I put him down, I look up and a huge raccoon is running down the walk straight toward us. I dropped the cat and backed up and the raccoon kept coming. When he got to the steps, Mr. Kitty positioned himself, arched his back and gave his meanest growl. The raccoon stopped beside the steps and the cat was about to jump on him when I screamed. Kitty weighs 8 pounds and the raccoon looked like he weighed 25-30 pounds. I'll swear I believe they have fought before because they acted like they knew each other. I've heard several fights and I thought he was fighting another cat, now I wonder.
It could have been a "slippedcork and mhall" kind of fight if I had just not interfered. LOL

Pelosi, Biden, Edwards, Kennedy, Kerry, Richardson, are among those Democrats that voted for NAFTA. So by your logic you are saying that they are pieces of crap too? And what President signed the bill into law? Oh, Bill Clinton...crap as well? If voting for Nafta is the basis of this arguement for what a piece of crap is then we may be close to agreeing on something.:) NAFTA is another fine example of poor legislation.
