the subject was football and thats what i was referring to in my last post. i dont watch baseball and i will watch womens vollyball but not because i like watching the ball go across the net. so i dont give a rats !@# about the FACTS that you keep throwing out. its clear that the SEC is the best football conference around and if there was a playoff, we would have two teams playing for the championship. lol
The subject was football, and when the Kayuts ever become relevant in that sport, let me know. The facts of the $EC being the best conference doesn't back you up either. Louisville was beating top 10 ranked teams while playing in C-USA, a bad football conference, but not one that UK could have won!
When Louisville joined the Big East, they lost in triple overtime to conference champ West Virginia, who won the lowly Big East and has no chance against the mighty $EC.....oh wait, the Big East Champ (WVU) won the Sugar Bowl against the $EC champ (Georgia) in what amounted to a home game for the dawgs! If you wonder why, it is because Hurricane Katrina destroyed the Superdome, so they played the Sugar Bowl in the Georgia Dome!
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
hmm..other than a lucky win here and there when has kentucky or louisville really scared anyone that mattered.kinda like me winning winning a fishing tournament,i won but more than likely something catastrophic happened to the local pros that day..engine blew up,trolling motor quit etc.
and odds are they won't be worried if i show up next week..what i'm saying is look at their overall rating form whatever date you want to start with and see what average you get up to now.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
You think the Big east is better than the SEC in every sport? You better check those "facts" a little better.
For instance the fact about how the 2nd best team in SEC football (Florida)totally destroyed Cincinnati your undefeated big least champion.
Here are facts about every sport out there, you seem to think the Big East is better at everything huh?

i'll put the sorry, no good, bottom feeding UK beating the SEC CHAMPS and NATIONAL CHAMP LSU up against your cards losing to the big east champ wvu and let you decide wich was more impressive

I will put UK and their first time rushing the field against LSU against anything that the Cards have done.....LOL enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Anwl5AU5zZE&feature=related
Btw, we can also do the UK fans rushing the field when the beat Alabam and they tore the goal post down. Oh that was a 4-7 'Bama team.
I would say that losing to the conference champ that beat the champ of the GREATEST FOOTBALL CONFERENCE IN THE UNIVERSE AND THE HISTORY OF MANKIND is more impressive, at least according to UK fan's standard.
UK football would be a really good team...in the Sun Belt Conference! Btw, the Joke(r) is on you!
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
so your saying UL losing to WVU that beat UG is more impressive than beating a #1 SEC conference/ and national champ team? if thats the case, i guess it blows your mind that here lately UK has lost to several SEC conference champions and national champions. oh yeah, your big east conference champions looked real good against the SEC's second best team this year. :D

No.1, NOWHERE did I say the Big East was better than the $EC in every sport. Read the post again.
No.2, national titles are not reflective of the toughness of the conference. Not sure why that is so hard to understand. A great example, UK has seven of those ten basketball titles. Take one team out of the picture and kinda looks bad for the conference.
Using your logic, it is obvious that the ACC and Big Ten conferences were far better than the rest in hoops last year. After all, they each had a team in the title game. So I guess it would be:
#1 ACC
#2 Big Ten
Her is how things played out during last season's tournament and what proves your logic flawed, this is from last season's NCAA tourney:
The ACC
Wake Forest 0-1
Boston College 0-1
Florida St. 0-1
Clemson 0-1
Maryland 1-1
North Carolina 5-0
Total 8-6
Four teams lost in the first round, 1 team out in the second round, only two sweet 16 teams and then UNC to the Elite Eight and Final Four. Better than the Big East? NOT EVEN CLOSE. Btw, their other sweet 16 team was Duke who got beat by….Villanova of the Big East.
The Big Ten(11)
Ohio St. 0-1
Minnesota 0-1
Illinois 0-1
Michigan 1-1
Wisconsin 1-1
Purdue 2-1
Michigan St. 5-0
Total 9-6
Three teams out in the first round, two more bounced in the second round, two sweet 16 teams and the Michigan St. to the Elite Eight and Final Four. Better than the Big East? NOT EVEN CLOSE! Btw your only other Sweet 16 team was Purdue…..who was beat by UConn of the Big East.
The Big East
West Virginia 0-1
Marquette 1-1
Syracuse 2-1
Louisville 3-1
Pitt 3-1
Nova 4-1
UConn 4-1
Total 17-7
Only one team eliminated in the first round, only one other team out in the second round. Five Sweet 16 teams, a record four teams in the Elite Eight and two teams in the Final Four. That is right, half the field in the Elite Eight and Half the field in the Final Four were from the Big East Conference.
Do you understand why championships are not relevant when discussing a conference's strength?
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
Btw, college boxing is not an NCAA sanctioned sport. They are not even allowed to get the best amateur boxers from the country to fight on their teams, because they have too much experience. Most college boxers couldn't go three rounds with the semi finalist at the National Goldne gloves or the USA Boxing National Championships. Most do not even box until they get to college.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
LSU's boxing titles were before the NCAA dropped the sport,I don't remember what year but I'm sure it's ancient history.
Sure the Big East is a tough basketball conference, but they have 16 teams, that's 4-6 more teams than most conferences, when you have that many you are certain to have a few more at the top.Just my opinion, but this year the Big East is not as tough as recent years past, outside of Syracuse and Villanova the rest are average. The Sec has been down in recent years, but is nearly always in the top 4 conferences rpi wise excluding last year, any reasonable person knows there are 4 or 5 teams in the SEC that can play with anybody, and a couple more that could on a given night.
It is not any easier to go on the road and win in the SEC as it is in any other conference.
I look for the Big East to get 7 teams in the NCAA Tourney and the SEC to get 5-6 teams in.
