YEA...I'd have to put my money on Russ Lane also...with Ike close right behind him. Russ has been fishing this lake for many years! Ike...when a tough bite is the deal...and as it looks...this might just be the toughest...that is when Ike shines! Demo
Re: Who's your Classic winner pic?
Pam Martin Wells will do well this year. Im rooting for one of the older guys, Klein, Brauer, Biffle, or Alton Jones would be fun to see win. But it will probably be skeete reese or KVD. Please no g-man.
Watch out for Mark Menendez. He loves fishing cold water. He won on Dardanelle with cold heavily stained water.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Not only did he get the win on Dardanelle last year in the cold, but he also won on Pickwick years ago with a jerkbait under similar conditions.

Re: Who's your Classic winner pic?
I didn't save the mag, but Mark is a friend and I remember the story he told me about slowing down and using the jerkbait to get bites lol.
Re: Who's your Classic winner pic?
All in all...I'd like to see one of the Federation Champs take the title...being a Federation guy myself. Now that would be an upset!!!

Is Brian Kerschal (sp?) the only Federation guy that has sealed the deal?

I think if the womens tour champ Pam-Martin won it would be an even bigger upset. I dont think its fair sending the womens tour champ to the classic. Not that I dont think her or last years champ Mrs. Kim Reaction Innovation cant compete any less than the Federation guy or Open guys I just dont think its fair because the competition isnt there in the womens tour. To me the womens tour is like having a Euro bass tour and sending the angler of the year to the classic. I would rather see her quailify for the Opens championship and make it that way. But I understand why they did to get more women to sign up for the womens tour and promote bass fishing and they even added a spot in the classic so its 51 and no one could say she took somebodys place. No big deal nothing against her I hope she does well and fishes the mens tour next year and starts a movement and the womens tour is set right. I think the top 5 womens tour anglers qualify for the elite series would be more fair. They dont have to qualify for the womens tour they just sign up for the most competive womens tour. Guys have to qualify for the elite series thru the opens. Not trying to be sexist just the opposite I think girls can compete with guys in fishing. You dont see a womens world series of poker.
Re: Who's your Classic winner pic?

Tim
I spoke with Mark the other day and he mentioned throwing the float n fly. That would be great! If you aren't going to the Classic be sure to watch the weigh in on saturday. If you are a friend of Mark's you will enjoy saturday's weigh in.

Unfortunately, I will not see the weigh in until Sunday most likely. I am going to be in Nashville Sat. for the NWTF Convention. I might get to see it at the hotel Sat., but if not, the DVR is already set.
