Man I would like to know about those ford vehicles. What when and where? Thanks.
Just search for FORD recalls in 2010 and you will find a plenty. They are not getting hammered like Toyota.
Do you realize that TOYOTA makes more "AMERICAN" made cars than does Ford, Chevy or Chrysler? If you look at percentage of parts on each brand most Toyots have over 80% of their parts come from the US.
I have been in the Auto industry for well over 25 years and Im here to tell you its a with hunt by our government. They are just trying to protect their interest in GM and Chrysler.
I don't know who makes more cars and trucks here on American soil, maybe Toyota makes more vehicles here than Ford, GM and Chrysler, heck if I know. For me it doesn't matter because at the end of the day when it's all said and done, after all Toyota employee's have been paid their wages, their benefits paid, any raises and bonuses and 401K contributions have been made, etc, that what ever profit money is left goes in the pockets of Japan, China or where ever else these "foriegn car" companies are headquartered at. I view them (China, Japan, etc) as the competitor. Maybe I'm just stubborn and bull headed, but I'm never going to view a foriegn car without a critical mind, and I'll dang sure never own one no matter what the circumstances. I can't argue that foriegn vehicles are of poor quality either because I believe for the most part they're well engineered. But, once again, none of this matters to me...I'm sticking by Ford, Chevy and Chrysler regardless of how many "foriegn" parts they're assembled with.
I have no idea what the government is doing as far as protecting their "interests" in GM and Chrysler. You may be right on that, once again, heck if I know. Time will tell I guess.

That don't surprise me cause this whole thing is a load of old Donkey Poo if you ask me.
No offense to anyone.
I've never owned a 'foreign' made truck, and don't have any plans to buy one. IMO there is no need, my '99 Tahoe is as good or better than any Japanese truck that ever rolled off the line. So were my 2 GMC Sierras, 4 Ford F150's (one was made in Canada, but I don't consider them Canucky's foreign unless we're playin em in hockey), 2 Ford Rangers (Mazdas, but the titles read Ford), Ford F100, and even that old 3-speed-on-the-column 65 Chevy C10 Apache I drove in high school (the ladies always slid closer when they moved that piece of plywood on their side of the floorboard and saw the road going by underneath).
The wife's Toyota Sienna van has been a good one, and it's her choice what we get her to drive next. But when it comes to my personal trucks there are 2 kinds...American and rice burners.
I love ya Don, but you gotta man up and get rid a that Tyoter.
Haha we all have our flaws! :p
