Re: Cold front...
you guys need to get your glasses on. on some of my local lakes, some have spawned out and hatched with the males guarding the fry. you can call me a liar all you want, or that i don't know what i'm talking about, but with the water at these places being above 72 degrees, well i need not say more...
p.s. these are very small lakes, not above 200 acres...so don't freak out. i'm sure bigger lakes like patoka and especially monroe are NOWHERE near spawning...but don't forget, when you say no place has any fish spawning, that is a dumb thing to say, unless you've been to every lake/pond in the state in the past week and have seen it.
I am not calling you a liar or saying that you don't know what you are talking about about....I just have never heard of/seen bass spawning this early...especially before the crappies and bluegill. Are you talking about bass??? And......don't tell us to get our glasses on...I have been out on several ponds and Monroe and fished shallow water. if they were spawning I would have seen them....insulting on your part. Are you in the southern half of the state??? Maybe they are closer to spawning there than here???

Re: Cold front...
Well to be honest Roberts, you've been arguing with us for a week saying we are wrong. And we had no idea what we were talking about. I think Steve just got tired of it. To me it seems you just doubt a lot of stuff on here. Especially if you weren't there or don't believe it. Just my 2 cents.

Well Justin...you are right....I do doubt some things i read and see on this board....not all things by any means. I am just going by historical data, personal experience, and what everyone else has said on this board except you two. If you think the bass are spawning in Bluegrass, so be it. I may be wrong about it. However, I don't think so. Just because fish are up shallow, it doesn't mean they are spawning. I do agree that it will come soon....especially in ponds and smaller lakes. The bigger bodies of water will come in 2-3 weeks.....around the mid-state area anyway. I'm done arguing with you!!!!!

you should doubt some things on this board. and yes i am in the southern most tip of the state, and have been fishing small lakes since my outboard went kaputt. the water is warm down here, and the first waves are spawning/have spawned out, depending on the lake. you are right in that patoka and especially monroe will not be spawning for a few weeks most likely, but this is the warmest spring we have had in a long time that i can remember. from my water temp records, i'm seeing temperatures in the lakes i fish more than 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.

steve I'm not going to doubt you anymore.....I'm just shocked that bass have already spawned in any body of water that is not a small pond. I'm sure you know this, but water temps are not the only factor that leads fish to spawn though. I hope they start spawning up here soon!

I'm out atleast 4 days a week. Get in touch with me and you can tag along anytime. I fish solo 90% of the time so I usually have room.

Re: Cold front...
theres some spawning going on, just not big lakes. temps are all over the place depending on size and location.
