All my spinning rods are G. Loomis. A g Loomis bronzeback in 7'4 is a GREAT choice. I have two and love them.

Great rod, but zero warranty.
GET a high end rod and GET it replaced if you ever break it. I blew up a cumara Saturday. Replaced it Monday with a brand spanking new one.....over the counter.
Never buy a cheap rod, even a 50 60 70 dollar rod is "expensive" if you have to pay smack to replace it if you damage, break, or otherwise destroy it.
Looking to get a nice one for frog and soft plastic jerkbait fishing. Was leaning toward Shimano or Loomis. I'm wanting lightweight, fast tip with plenty of backbone. Any ideas?
DJD, I would seriously consider the tech-spec rods at dicks sporting goods. All I use is spinning tackle and this rod has well outperformed any other I've used with exception of a custom rod I had made for jigging. If your were goin to spend upward of 200 I can give you the name of the guy I used and have a custom rod built. The tech-spec is highly rated along side the shimanos and priced starting at 60. They also have micro guide rods as well. I couldn't even imagine the poundage I've hauled in with mine. IM me if you need any contact info.

Thanks for the offer, I posted this years ago (2010) but the thread was revived for a related question and not by me. I have the rod needs taken care of now.:) Tight lines!
