Re: Homeowners associations
Mine does. The grass must be mowed at least every 2 weeks and if it gets over 12 inches high, the city mows and bills the homeowner $150. Another good thing they have done is pass an ordinance that says cars cannot be parked on the grass in the yard, nor up on blocks. It must be parked in an approved parking space or driveway, in good operating condition, with a current license plate on it. Also uninhabitable houses have to be dismantled and removed at the owner's expense, same with other buildings. Single wide house trailers are not permitted in town unless they fall under a grandfather clause saying they were already on the lot before the ordinance was passed.
There was a lot of screeching and howling when the ordinances were implemented but the city stuck by their guns and it has brought about some good changes.
I would be all for those things. I'd love for residents to have to park their vehicles in their own driveways or garages as well. Apparently, people have too much junk and too many cars to pull that off, though.
If I ever find myself having to park a vehicle on the street in our neighborhood, it's time to sell stuff or get a storage facility.

I'm not too sure I agree.....
I have 4 cars 1 boat and 2 canoes......along with a ton of camping gear. My garage is for my Boat, Canoes and Gear......It is all organized, but pretty much takes up the room in the garage.
If I could not park on the street, I'd pave my yard and turn it into a parking lot :) :) .
It is easy to say......just make them park in their driveway or garage, but in some cases that is not an option. I could get rid of the cars my daughters drive, but then I'd be hauling their butts all over the universe, which would definitely cut into my fishing time........but then I could get rid of my boat and canoes.........making room for those cars in the driveway.........HM.

Re: Homeowners associations
If you choose to trade freedom for property values, than by all means have at it.
Re: Homeowners associations
I doubt my property value has dropped ANY due to me parking my 2 cars on the street. Maybe it has....
According to my property TAXES.......it sure has not :) :) .
What is affecting my property value more is the undesirables that have moved in. Those that care nothing about their **** barking dog.......those that care nothing about their dog CRAPPING all over the place......those that care nothing about their punk ass teenagers......THOSE TYPES.
Maybe it is time to move.................better yet...........I need to form a HOA.......
