Re: Fishing Etiquette
I've had problems mainly with the bass fisherman, but I believe it's because of their manner of fishing that leads to the problems. Bass fisherman have to work the banks and keep moving, but I've literally had them cut between the bank and my boat when there was only 20 yards or less of water. I've had bass fisherman come up and throw their lures within fifteen feet of my corks!!
Now as far as bass fisherman having problems with each other, GOOD. The majority of bass fisherman on a lake have attitude problems and think they have rights to the whole lake. They're the rudest bunch of fisherman I've ever seen, of course riding around in a 70 thousand dollar truck and trailer rig gets to their heads, it's only human nature.
True blue panfisherman KNOW the **** rules and etiquette, it's the bassin crowd that have major issues.
That's such a generalized, biased and selfish statement border line ignorance. There are just as many panfisherman without a freaking clue.

You've posted this same dumb stuff a couple times now. We get you don't like bassfisherman. And I hope you understand I don't like you or any person who is stupid for that matter.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
Actually let me offer you some advice. Everytime you post redear, it's about terrible fishing, little fish, bass fisherman being mean or shad killing lakes ( which I'm sure you think is because of bass fishing). If you're going to be so negative all the time then stop fishing. If it's just that bad for you put all your fishing gear in your boat. Go out to the middle of a lake and pull the plug. Or at least stop posting. I mean can you say anything that isn't negative?

Wow.....how much B.S can you spout out in one post. So you think that since I have a nice boat and truck, like to cast instead of sit, and attempt to catch a fish that takes a little more effort that I (we) are rude and don't understand ettiquette on the water?? Just last week I was fishing a drop-off/brush pile when a crappie fisherman came off plane, idled right up to within 20 ft. of boat, then casted a bobber BETWEEN my boat and his....yeah, panfishermen get it more than us bass guys!!! There are those that get it, and those that don't......whatever they fish for!

Re: Fishing Etiquette
I think redear has had some bad run-ins with bass fisherman, but there is no need to hate him because of his opinion. Yes, he has spouted out some bad stuff about us bass fishermen, but he has obviously had bad experiences with our fellow people. Those bad experiences we have with fisherman are stamped into our memories, and make us angry. I can probably think of EVERY dumb fisherman I've come across over the years, and sadly I remember those experiences better than the good ones. There are many fisherman of all types who have no manners at all. But there is no reason to generalize an entire group of people based off of those small percentage of occurances, which seem like a larger percentage than what it is.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
Bass fishin, pan fishin, cat fishin, motorcycling, bicycling, driving, playing basketball, baseball, at work or just walking down the street. You will always run into those with no manners/etiquette or even hateful at any given time. Only person we can change is ourself. Posting this topic for the most part wasn't a bad idea but look at the troubles it has brought out. Now we have pan fishermen mad at bass fishermen and vise versa. We all need to keep in mind that "IF" we generalize something, someone will take it as if you're talking about him/her and run with it, not just here but in everyday life. We all share the water for a common purpose, enjoying ourselves. While on the water just go by the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" and things should work themselves out . . . over time. Most folks don't care about what others think but being polite can be contagious too just like a smile or the hiccups. =))

Re: Fishing Etiquette
I think the resentment between the different groups has been around for a long time. It didn't just now got fired up. My hope for this thread is to spread the words or educate those who may not know or sadly, just don't give a rat azz. More exposure equals more awareness right?
