Re: McDonalds All Americans
Indiana has never had a Post Season ban for any violations...... Fact..... Indiana never had the word ( Cheat ) associated with it's program or major rules violations until after Bobby Knight left the program...Since that time up until Creane took over the program was a disaster, except for when Indiana went to the Championship game in 2002....
Don't worry Tim, Indiana will eventually get a game with your beloved Cards again...It'll be a great game and I for one will be hoping for a smash mouth battle big time..with the Hoosier's coming out on top at the end of the game.......
I for one hope when IU and U of L play that both teams meet in the tunnel and beat the hell out of one another, coaches included (even though I don't have anything against Crean) and both teams get ejected, the game is a forefeit, and both universities end up paying a BILLION dollars in fines, lawsuits and other stuff related to the incident (but that is just me)

Does anybody have a link to the actual punishment handed down? I thought they had a one year ban, which would have been Creans first year, but I can't find that info anywhere.
Re: McDonalds All Americans
We lost several scholarships over a two year span and Crean was limited on recruiting trips (fewer off campus visits and phone calls).

Didn't matter if they got a ban or not, they haven't been to the NCAA Tourney in how long now? I figure Crean will have them in shape in about 10 more years.
Re: McDonalds All Americans
Thats funny.......it has been three years though. You say that as your UK Wildcats just got beat by Vandy and are 5-5 in the SEC.....very impressive! We are down, no doubt about it.......10 years though......as Keyshawn would say "Come on, man"!!!!!!

How did IU fare against UK?
Re: McDonalds All Americans
Fella I understand that UK is better than us this year....I'm not here ranting about how good we are. UK is just an average team in an average conference though. They are like many teams......they won a lot of non-conference home games, and then struggle in-conference....still haven't won a road game in the SEC. Neither has IU!

I agree in that UK is an average team but I would say they are a bit above average in an above average conference. The SEC is no where near as strong as the Big East, no conference is, but with the decline of Michigan St. I would put the SEC against the Big 10 top to bottom and see what happens. Mississippi State is a very good team. Factoring in all their suspensions for the year is the reason they have so many losses, but now they are all back, they will be a tough team to beat from here on. UK has won a road game in the SEC, South Carolina, and have 4 of the last 6 games at home where Calipari has NEVER lost in 2 years. Throw in the fact that the 5 roads losses were by 7, 2, 2, 2, and 4 points, a little over 3 pts per game average. They are just a shot away in these games. Throw in the North Carolina game, which UK lost by 2, and that brings the total games decided by 2 points to 4 with UK on the bottom end. If these games were won by the Big Blue we are 22-3 overall and 9-2 in the SEC. 8 points over 4 games is not a lot to make up. I still don't see them making a deep run in the NCAA, since they only play 6 players. If they do make a run then Jones, Lamb and Knight have to bring 16-20 points EACH to the table every game, LIggins and Miller need 8-10 apiece, Harrelson needs 12 rebounds per game.
