Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Cincinnati beat Georgetown last night, adding more credit to my claims.
UK was beat on the road...again...
The Big East is where it's at. Some excellent teams beating on each other the whole season long. Will be interesting to watch come time for the big dance!
I never said the Big East was not where it's at. Cincy did beat Georgetown but the outcome would have been a bit different if Georgetown's point guard, leading scorer and leading assist man did not break his hand in the game. UK did lose on the road.....again..... and my point in the earlier post was Cincy against a SEC team on a NEUTRAL SITE. Seems not too long ago, LAST YEAR, that the Big East was strutting and quacking their way to putting 8 teams in the Big Dance. Also seems to me that the 8 teams went a combined 8-8, 8 total victories by 8 different teams and West Virginia had 4 of those victories, 4 of them went out in the first round and if not for a miracle by Villanova it would have been 5, Louisville flat out laid a Cardinal Egg against Cal in the second round. The SEC put 4 teams in the tourney versus 8 for the Big East, but had 2 in the Elite 8 versus 1 for the Big East. Sure was glad it was a "Down" year as a whole for the SEC last season because if not.....and was glad the Big East was the "Best Conference in America" last year because if not.....history has a way of repeating itself. Maybe the SEC is the best conference in america and the best teams are knocking heads, maybe the Big East is not as good as being advertised and a bunch of equal mediocre teams are knocking heads, that is why the NCAA tourney is the best sporting event EVER! There are no Kansas or Kentucky's this year that are guaranteed Number 1 seeds and odds on to win the title. Ohio State is over-rated, Kansas (who can depend on them during the big dance), Texas - who knows, Pittsburgh???, Puke - not back to back, completely wide open.
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
You live in the past......and cannot look beyond it. This is exactly why some teams are overrated or underrated. It's not about what happened last year or 40 years ago...it's about now and what's being brought to the court. Cincinnati is bringing it, as well as Louisville.

I would much rather live in the past than live in Fantasyland. The past has been a pretty good representation of the future. As far as looking beyond the past, I have no problem saying UK is not a very good team, no problem posting that they may not win another game the rest of the year, no problem in putting them in the same sentence as NIT. But to say Cincinnati is in the top 3 of the SEC??? You keep your faith in Cincinnati, with 2 victories over ranked teams this season - 1 of them being over that other team that is "Bringing It" Louisville and the other in a game that the point guard broke his hand. 6-5 in their last 11 games is bringing it. Hell even Kentucky is 6-5 in their last 11 games. How bad are the Cream Puffs that Cincinnati beat to fatten up their win total before the Big East started? Oklahoma RPI 125, Miami OH RPI 102, Wright State RPI 113, IPFW RPI 178, Toledo RPI 325, Dayton, FAMU. I know before it is said, IF/WHEN Cincy gets bounced in the first game of the Big East tourney it will be because the league is so strong top to bottom and the competition is far superior than other leagues. I know before it is said, IF/WHEN Kentucky wins the first game of the SEC tourney it will be because the league is so weak top to bottom and the competition is far less than other leagues.
"Cincinnati in top 3 of SEC, possibly even be Number 1" from your earlier post, talk about FANTASYLAND. Aldo Nova had a song out several years ago called Fantasy, you may look it up. Try these on for size as well, Dilusional, Wishful Thinking, No Shot, When Donkey's Fly, When I Win a Hawaiian Tropics Bikini Contest....these are word and terms used to describe Cincinnati's chances of being in the Top 3 of the SEC, possibly even Number 1.
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Woody, I couldn't agree more with your post about the Big East.... All the Cards fans, think I'm insane and don't have a clue as to what I'm talking about when it comes to basketball....
But the Big East is a total joke...They get put in the Top 25 during the pre-season rankings..play a cupcake schedule the entire non-conference schedule...then when they got 10 tems or more in the top 25....They play each other and beat each other up to maintain those so important wins, which keep them in the Top 25....
No chance in hell for them to drop out of the Top 25, cause they lose a game they should have won, win a game they should have lost.. So they win just at the right moment to offset a loss....
U of L the 11th best team in the Country....you got to be kidding me..... I just don't see where these College Coach's get their brains from in selecting the rankings....Too much butt kissing when the selections are taking place if you ask me..But hell what do I know......
I'll say it now and I'll stick to my guns... Big East folds and tucks it's head under it's wings as they take yet another butt stompin come Tournament time......
Plus I'll say that U of L gets bounced from the Tournament by the second round......Along with at least half of the Big East teams that make the Big Dance, lol..providing they ( Big East Teams ) make it to the 2nd round....... :D
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Mills you have got to be the most basketball ignorant person that has ever lived, it's actually laughable.
Yes Elwood made a good point of the Big East having a tough tourney last year they did but that doesn't mean they weren't worthy. The big dance is very unpredictable and puts teams against each other that know next to nothing about their oppenent sometimes.
Mills check out of conference play this year with the BG and see if they have played cupcake schedules and see what their records are.
Also BTW it was a overrated BG team last year that was one of the final four and sent the best team Calapari has maybe ever had home to the house with their tail tucked.
Mills please buy a clue about basketball, most high school girls that hate sports know more than you, lmao.

Easy now BIG FELLA,
I don't think the Big East is a Total Joke and you should not either. Pre-season rankings only had Pitt, Villanova and Syracuse ranked in the top 25. I agree that some coaches don't have a clue for Kansas State was ranked 3rd and they have fallen off the planet. Not only was Notre Dame not ranked, they never received 1 single point at all and they are playing some outstanding basketball and a sure top 5 team in the country right now. My beloved Big Blue was ranked #10 and this was based on WHAT, they just lost Wall, Bledsoe, Patterson, Cousins and Orton? Consider who is making the pre-season rankings, Coaches who are focusing on their own team. If I was a coach, I don't care about the rankings and I don't see them sitting down and studying the teams to see who needs to be ranked and who not. I do agree that the Big East is over-rated in the fact that they don't deserve 11 bids to the NCAA Tourney as some are saying. 68 teams this year in the Big Dance and 11 are coming from the same league is way too much. The Big East may be a super conference or it may be a mediocre conference. NOBODY really knows until March Madness. When the Big Dance starts and the teams from the Big East are playing other non-conference teams, that is when the proof will be in the pudding. I am not saying either way for this year but last year was proven for the league to be over-rated.
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Mills spouting nonfacts and mistruths all over again. It's what he does best. Show me some facts that the Big East is overrated Mills! Can you do that? I didn't think so. I am going to help educate you, although I don't know why because you will ignore it or forget about it and then be back on here spouting more untruths later.
The Big East is the number one ranked conference in the RPI and has the highest rated Strength of schedule! Highest rated strength of schedule? How could this be, Mills said the Big East only plays cupcakes! What does this mean?
It means when you make comments such as this "But the Big East is a total joke...They get put in the Top 25 during the pre-season rankings..play a cupcake schedule the entire non-conference schedule" YOU ARE WRONG!
Sort of like when I proved you wrong two years ago during the NCAA tournament when the Big East had half the field in the Elite 8 and half of the Final Four.
Keep dreaming big Clyde and reach for the stars.
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Boy Mills....that has to sting! Ha ha ha!
Why are you so worried about Big East teams in the big dance anyways? You should be more worried about your kitties even getting into the dance, or making it past the first round if they get in...I hear Murray State is pretty good this year.....

Also good post Tim bringing up a couple of years ago. All my UK buddies remember last year's tourney real well but tend to forget about that year............
Re: Bearcats Pluck the Chickens and enjoy a Finger Lickin Good Night
Some more facts for Clyde to ignore:
Pitt beat Texas to win the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in New York.
Georgetown beat NC State to win the Charleston Classic.
Connecticut beat Kentucky to win the Maui Invitational.
Syracuse beat Georgia Tech to win the Legends Classic in Atlantic City.
Notre Dame beat Wisconsin to win the Old Spice Classic in Orlando.
St. John's beat Arizona State to win the Great Alaska Shootout.
You are right Clyde, the Big East is (insert Charles Barkley accent here) Turrible!
