Kentucky is 14-3 vs Indiana the past 17 years.
[QUOTE=GeoFisher;442482]UK can have the GREATEST class in the world and they still won't win. One and DONE players cannot get it DONE.
I think U of L has a better chance, and quite frankly.....
Besides, anything you do accomplish under the current coach will be vacated in the next few years......

You're hanging your hat on the 2012 recruiting class? They have 2 guys in the top 75 and 3 in the top 100.....That's a below average year for KY

UK has none in the top 150....so whats your point. You say the top 75...they are no. 10 and 17.....and no. 78. We are still working on Gary Harris who is no. 24 also.

Yea, we're on probation. A HORRIBLE, horrible time for Indiana. But you know what. We've learned from the FOOLISHNESS of the previous Administration, previous board of regents, previous AD, and YES PREVIOUS Coach..........btw.....every last one of them good for nothing SOB's are gone.......as are the gremlins of our past.
Unlike UK who only cares about wins...........I really cannot wait until Crapapari is caught with the hand in the cookie jar......AGAIN.

How many did UK have signed this time last year, but somehow Knight, Jones, Lamb, Poole and Kanter showed up. Plus these guys are here with no guarantee that any are leaving(except Kanter) and The Number One Class coming in next year. Not sure, but Johnny C's history of recruiting talent speaks for itself and by the time the 2012 class gets here the Hoosier nation will only wish to have 1/3rd the studs UK will put on the floor during the annual Hoosier beatdown. Hickory High was only in the movies and as much as I like and respect Tom Crean, he is no Gene Hackman.
Crean is also not a proven cheater (Coach Cal) who has two of his Final Four's vacated by the NCAA. Sampson was and we got rid of him.......although he set our program back by at least five years. UK is good and has really good recruits coming in, no doubt. Guys that come in and stay one year rarely win big come tourney time and do not solidily a program. I'm glad IU doesn't get those guys, hecjk I couldn't keep track of who was on our team! My point is that IU is coming back....albeit more slowly than I expected.

IU is coming back and IU will be back because Tom Crean is a hell of a coach, no doubt. As far as a program being set back five years, take a look at UK. No they are not on probation or coming off probation but in regards to the expectations of UK from their fans versus IU and their fans, how many years were we setback when Cal came along? Personally, I LOVED Tubby Smith but I am in the minority when it comes to that. The Big Blue nation as a majority wanted his head on a platter, wanted him gone so bad that they put racist signs in his front yard, put for sale signs in his front yard, pretty much ran him out of town before he ever left. Rupp had set the bar so high to begin with, and if you ever seen a home game at Rupp, take a look at the crowd in the lower arena. The crowd in the lower arena that is supposed to be standing and cheering the home team is sitting on their hands because they are too old to stand and cheer. Face facts, money rules everything, and who has more money than the Big Blue Nation. Season tickets don't just cost you the face value, they cost you a donation to the Big Blue Fund as well. The "Rupption Zone" is the only student body you will find in the lower arena of Rupp. Not like Cameron indoor with the Cameron Crazies, Fogg Field House, The Pit out at New Mexico and other COLLEGE ENVIRONMENTS. UK is not a college program, it is a professional program that happens to be played in college. Now that I have rambled a bit to set the example: Rupp set the bar, Rupp's fans - those that remember and watched the bar get raised that high, then you have Joe B. Hall, who never had a shot of following in Rupp's shoes and meeting the fans expectations, the program started declining, onto Alcohlic Eddie Sutton who left UK in SHAMBLES on probation and left for dead - Pretty much where IU was a couple of years ago, along comes Pitino who in 1996 and 1997 had the bar set so high and back to where the Big Blue nation expected it to be every year, he leaves and Tubby wins a title in 1998 and then the decline starts again, bring in Drunken Billy Gillespie and it only takes a couple of years to bottom out again - per the UK Fan standards, Boom Johnny C year 1 Best recruting class in america, Elite 8 (should have won the title but could not throw it in the ocean agains West Virgina and they could not miss even if they were blindfolded), year 2 another #1 recruiting class, year 3 next will be another #1 recruiting class. Bottom line is that UK was declining by UK standards ever since 1978 when they won the title with Goose Givens over Duke for almost 20 years until 1996, 1997, and 1998 then another decline until 2009. I am not an IU fan and never will be one and don't know the expectations of the program in the eyes of the fans. The Big Blue Nation EXPECTS UK to be in the Final Four competing for a National Title EACH AND EVERY SEASON, or the year is a failure. SEC titles are forgone conclusions, SEC tourney titles are forgone conclusions for these are pickup games in the eyes of the Nation before the real games begin in March. If UK is not playing the Saturday before the National Title game on Monday night every year then FAILURE. Sure is a lot of expectations to live up to and if it takes a lot of one and doner's to make this run then this is what Johnny C will do to make the Nation happy.

Finally we agree on some things. Expectations are very high at UK....as well at IU. Our season tickets are the same way...the waiting list is at over seven years right now and we have the biggest student section in the country! The difference in the transition between Pitino/Smith/Gillespy/Cal is that they successor did not have to completely gut the program like Crean did. Crean had to start over with ONE scholarship player (who was the worst player on our team the year before), walk-ons, and recruits he brought in that were left out by every other major college basketball team. The guys that Sampson had at IU were ball players.....but they did not go to class and could not pass drug tests....so Crean sent them on their way and started over.....hence the long rebound time. Mo Creek's injuries have REALLY hurt us. He was the leading scoring freshman in the country when his first injury happened.....now a second season ending injury.....he will never be the same!
