Also about half was back in the creeks and black shell banks about 15-20 feet down. Large mouths are in the backs of the creeks top water and some fish on the bed but few and far between...[/QUOTE]
It's a BIG, LONG lake. Are you reporting results for the East, Middle or West end? Thanks.

Re: Cumberland
From Beaver to the dam as recently as yesterday the lake was clear. There were a floaters but very few. Driving in the rain (well you know what that is like) I did not worry about hitting anything. There were three cleared off spots at Halcombs to launch. One night I was able to net a few shad (one at a time) near bank with no light. No light because it went out after 45 minutes right before I was going to throw. There were some shad to net but not tons. Next night same place, new light, not a one came up and they were not on the bank as much. Had only four shinners left from the day before so I was down to the jiggin spoons Sunday. Maybe the cold front had something to do with it.
Saturday I did see a nice cooler of some really nice (six) healthy fish in the high twenties to 30 inch range at the Country Store. If you didn't go you made a good decision. Lots of rain.
