Re: So.........is ANYONE going to talk about the recent OIL FIND??
They shut down 4 oil refinerys in nortern indiana years ago. They shut down 2 major chemical plants that relied on hydrocarbons, they all went to La and Tx. BUT they still continue to ship enourmous amounts of natural gas into that same area, using some of the old crude pipe lines.Oil sands in the dakotas and canada have a lot of oil that can be used, but the power to do i9t, is not there. The energy companys have us by the gonads, because they bought congress. Its the "golden rule" you got the gold make the rule.
Re: So.........is ANYONE going to talk about the recent OIL FIND??
I guess I dont know whats going on. I do have opinion though and that is we should be going all out to find and drill for as much oil as possible. I think our needs come before some deer or bears or fish. I asked my father-in-law about his opinion and he said that the problem is that we dont have enough refineries here in the U.S. He said that we are paying to have our oil refined elsewhere and shipped back to us. Wow that sounds expensive. Of course thats just his opinion. He has worked in the oil feild for many many years(now retired) down in Houston and went to St. Croix to help set up a refinery 12 yrs ago. He said we are building the refineries in other countries and providing jobs for them because our EPA wont allow them to be built here. Why not provide jobs for us here? If we had plenty of refined oil, it would take pressure off of those that are trying to come up with an energy source that doesn't require energy to make(and doenst exsist yet). Good luck with that. Oh and our president said that he would regulate coal companies out of business and that energy rates would necessarily sky rocket. "Thank you sir, may I have another".
I say drill baby drill and refine it and lets see if it helps with prices. Until someone comes up with cold fusion, cars that run on water, windmills that will fit on the top of my car, or a flux capasiter, I say bring on refineries and oil.
Re: So.........is ANYONE going to talk about the recent OIL FIND??
Seems like alot of info I read and hear about this comes back to the greenies. Let's see what kind of lies and crap the politicians toss out there this time. Last potus election was full of it and the biggest liar got the job. Wonder who can out lie and flip flop the master.
why be in a hurry to fix what they do not consider broke lots of fresh crude means $3.50 to $4 a gallon goes away so feed the calf enough to keep it hungry and when the price goes up fatten it up and sell it.
I was in Mississippi yesterday and actually purchased gas at a Shell station for $3.41/gallon. The same truck/company that delivers to that station also delivers to the stations across the state line in Alabama, just 19 miles away. Those stations sell their gas for $3.61 and some for $3.71/gallon although it was delivered by the same truck on the same day. It is nothing but price gouging and every holiday or special event that happens in this area, there is a notice in the local newspaper warning the gas stations about the penalty for price gouging.

That's the thing that irks me the most, far too big of price range from one store to the next, prices just donot flucuate that much when a barrel of oil has not.We were only paying $2.80 a gallon for gas not long ago for the same price a barrel of oil cost recently.
Re: So.........is ANYONE going to talk about the recent OIL FIND??
And far too big of a price fluctuation to be justified. Case in point is when the prices recently rocketed from 3.79 straight to 4.19. Now they've feathered down to 3.59 or so. You can't tell me that supply OR demand have changed that much. No, there was flooding at the time, and even though it didn't cause any real problems with supply, it was an excuse for big oil to stick it to us.
