Re: UK Football -National Championship
So if you start 22 freshmen that were the best in their position in high school and they go 0-11, are they bad or young? You say they are not bad but then say IF "Charlie can refine those boys". If they are not bad why do they need refining?
They are great and talented young players, but it takes mixing those players together and getting the right chemistry to make an excellent team......that's what I meant by refining them. They are still learning how to work with one another in the best way possible.
You know, there's no point in trying to talk to elsmallnuts......it's like betting on UK to win against Florida this weekend....just a total waste....

It is a total waste because Elnut calls it like it is. You still avoided the question, what else is new, ad to whether they were a bad team or young team. I guess if they give out championships based on young inexperienced talent Kentucky would have 2 Basketball titles and soon a third. Louisville very well may end up a talented experienced football team but right now September 23, 2011 they are a BAD football team. Age and Experience had absolutely NOTHING to do with whether the team is good or bad because to say it again in English - it is based on what you have done not what you might do. Surely the great almighty U of L Engineering School had a requirement that you read and understand the English language
Re: UK Foootball -National Championship
If things keep goin like they are sayin in the news, the Big East will lose their BCS ties...Too many Mid Major schools will belong to their conference and we all know, it'll be called the Conference USA II......
U of L , don't want no part of the Big 12 conference..They want to have at least some chance of winning a Conference Title in the Mid Major Big East....
Can't compete against the likes of Texas and Okla., so they won't try and leave the Big East......
Art the Cards future is so bright they need a welders helmet screw the sunglasses. Yes it's gonna be a tough year but Strong is bringing in studs, it's just a matter of time.
I also like how everybody keeps saying the Big East is the worst conference in football, Well their win/loss record this year against out of conference Foe's says different. Cincy won last night. The BE is more than holding their own this year.
In two years from now I say the Cards will be on the National radar scope again and teams better lace up or they will be dealt an ''L''
Oh man I'd like to wager on that one!
Speak for yourself.....Louisville isn't bad, just young....if Charlie can refine those boys more and more with each game, Louisville will get into some kind of bowl game this winter.
bad,young = not good

OOoh, yeah, we don;t want no part of the big bad Texas and Oklaoma teams, they are just to good!
Oh yeah, we beat Texas like they stole something from us the last time we played them Mills. 41-10, it was so bad that they loaded up Bevo and took him out of the stadium at halftime.
Oh yeah, last time we played Oklahoma was their NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP team and they come from behind in the fourth quarter to squeal by in a game that Louisville probably wins if Redman doesn;t take one on the chin, beat us.
I will say one thing for you Clyde, you will never let FACTS get in the way of your uneducated arguments!

Again, Tim you keep think'n in the past....I'm talkin bout the furture, NOT the past as your brain is always in reverse these days. Never said 1 word about the past......So you actually think your young talented team could stand up to Texas and Okla. these days if you were in the Big 12.....Man you just gotta get off the Big Red Koolade man..... It's interferrin with your train of thought processing.........:)
Re: UK Foootball -National Championship
Tim T,
I usually don't agree with Clyde, but if you think a win over Texas in 1993 and a loss to Oklahoma by 3 touchdowns in 1999 makes Louisville competitive year in and year out against these 2 powerhouses plus others in the Big 12, you are more delusional than I thought. Every kid on Louisvilles current squad was either still in diapers or barely potty trained when they beat Texas and in elementary school when they lost to OU. I hardly see these 2 games ad proof that Louisville could be competitive in the Big12. When I say competitive, I mean with an outside chance to win the league. Kentucky is not and will not EVER have a chance to win the SEC and are doormats. I think Louisville would be the same in the Big 12 going against the likes of Texas, OU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and such.

Beating UK this year conveys the same level of achievement as being able to zip up your jeans without snagging your junk...it's pretty much expected...and most everybody can do it.
Re: UK Foootball -National Championship
Bottom line is that UofL has a chance at a bowl game this year, and UK will go 3-9. Anyway, over the past 10 years, Louisville's football program has been much better than UK's. We have won a BCS bowl, and been to many other bowls more prestigious than the GAYlord bowl that UK fans think is so great. But maybe you all changed your mind and thats why only 25k fans were at your opening game in Nashville.
UK haters can keep on hating, but the truth is the UofL is on the up and up and UK is not, but what else is new? Just wait for basketball season, right?..(sarcasm)

Did anybody but me read the quote where Clyde stated "U of L , don't want no part of the Big 12 conference..They want to have at least some chance of winning a Conference Title in the Mid Major Big East...."
My point was to show that Louisville already has played home and home with the two best teams in the Big 12, as well as with aTm. They are not afraid and would leap at the chance to be in the Big 12. That was my whole point.
Now to your point Elwood, Yes I do believe Louisville would be able to compete in the Big 12 for a few reasons.
1.) Coach Strong is already bringing in top 25 recruiting classes, think about how much easier it is to recruit if you are in the Big 12.
2.) Being in the Big 12 brings a lot more money to the football program, and Tom Jurich, unlike Mitch Brainfart, will actually spend the money on the football program. Doing so means, another upgrade in some of the finest football facilities in the country.
3.) More money and membership in the Big 12 means the ability to hire and keep big time football coaches at Louisville, something that has been a struggle in the past.
4.) anybody that doesnt think that Louisville's young talent is Big 12 Caliber in two years is not paying attention to college football.
Elwood, Kentucky doesn't care about football is the problem, there is no excuse for them not to be competitive in the SEC.
Clyde, why do you even talk football on here? It is not like your team plays college football. UK owned your team so bad in football that your AD quit playing them! For the love of all things holy, your pathetic excuse of a program lost to North Texas yesterday. Perhaps you should talk about something you know a little about, although nobody seems to be able to figure out what that is in your case.
