Sorry to hear your son didn't catch any. I hope he still had fun and did not get disgruntled because of not bringing any to the scales.

we had some good father son time. we are going to try again next year. thanks to everybody on this site for all the help:D
On saturday my oldest weighed in a 3.74 big fish that held up for him to get big fish award, but ended up in 4th place overall with a little over 7 pounds in the 15-18 age group. My youngest ended up in fourth place place with a little over 5 pounds in the 11-14 age group. I told everyone we would give update so here goes.
We fished on the main after butler creek on the north side on main lake, and those coves. Lot's of boats there. My oldest caught his big fish throwing a pop-r. Hit 10' from boat. The rest of there fish were spots caught on buzz bait, pop-r and cumberland craw jigs. Day two we went up snake river just after boat ramp, throwing carolina rig 10" worms and they hooked some big bass but lost them. My youngest landed one on a black/blue jig with blue saphire tail that went a tad under 3 pounds. Went back to main lake to our day one spot and caught 3 more spots.
Thanks to everyone for the tips
Ray
Congrats to your two sons!
