Our Walmart must be way behind compared to the ones you all go to. I'll just have to keep checking every other day to make sure I don't miss out when they finally mark things that I would like down to a good price.

That's how this one was. They have repalas on sale right now too
Actually if you want to save a load of money and make one trip a year just set at home and order from Tackle Warehouse. Free shipping on orders over $50 and no sales tax. Not to mention everything is cheaper than bass pro. i went to bass pro to pick up a football jig mold the other day (because it was on sale) and thought I would go ahead and pick up a melting pot as well because the one at TW was on backorder. Well when I looked at the price of the same pot at Bass Pro that made up my mind pretty quick. BassPro was $12 higher than tackle warehouse for the same exact pot. Loomis Rods, Cranks, Line, you name it its cheaper at Tackle Warehouse. BassPro is a joke now days.
I kinda got tired of bass pro's shipping charge. takes them a good week or so to ship. I been using gander mountain as their shipping is free and usually have it in 3 or 4 days. granted they don't have the selection as BP. I've yet to try tackle warehouse.
The Wal-Mart here in Glasgow now has Abu Vendettas, Falcon Bucoo's and W&M Skeet Reese's, Berkley shock rods in stock. They also had KVD squarebills.
We have all do that but the Reece rods
Just got back from Wally World and was gonna post about this very thing. I am going to pick a Falcon Bukoo Micro tomorrow. I dont mind buying brand name stuff there-the wife has worked there for years and gets a 10% discount-but I stay away from the generic. Was at BPS over the weekend and they have gotten a little pricey, im gonna chech out Tackle Warehouse. Do they have a good selection of baitcast reels?
Tackleware house is no bargain either. I'm just not the type that wishes to spend $200 on a fishing rod, when I could get a Ugly stick, 2 dozen shiners, a 12 pack of beer, and a motel room for the same amount.

For the life of me I can't seem to find any 2 3/4 oz triple Indiana bladed black and white spinner baits Harry and Charlie have been using lately. Read they been tearing them up at a private pond south of Swamp Gas Corner's Store near Belly Bayou.
Harry stuck a big hawg near 15lbs on a blue Slong snog 15" jelly worm, that broke his 85 pound mono......
Well hope you all have good luck in yer fishin days ahead...I think I'll head on down to Swamp Gas Corner and meet up with ole Harry and Charlie and see if'n I can tag along and catch me some of them big ole mean Bass's they been catch'n lately.....
I read that about 4 or 5 years ago WalMart made a couple of stategic corporate Decisions. The firest was that Fishing and Boating were "Seasonal". That why you see the shelf space expaning and contracting during the year. The second was to give some "Local" control over the items stocked at an individual store. Each store could tailer there inventory to the local market. This is why some products would be at one store and not another.
It appears that Corporate is adjusting this philosophy some what with the addition of higher end products.
If you want your store to carry particular products you need to talk/write the manager. Since ordering is done ~ 6 months in advance you will see the results in Feb 2013 if you start now.
From what I have seen all Wal-Marts are different. If you go to a Wal-Mart near a major like Guntersville they have a nice tackle selection. If you go to one in a major city the fishing selection is awful. In Morehead for example they carry a few muskie baits and have a decent overall selection. Each Wal-Mart buys different items to add to fishing department so it just depends. Hopefully all Wal-Marts have incentive to add these items but I wouldnt count on it. But like others have said I only dont do much shopping at Wal-Mart anyway.
