You say Tamato I say Tomato...
I know a little about basketball and alot of what you say is fact and some of it is conjecture and opinion just like mine, we all have one.
Pitino has been here long enough now making a top five in the country in salary to have produced more than one Final four appearance. The last two years have been down right embarrassing in the dance. I have never cared for Pitino, I did not want him here from the get go. Don't like that flashy NY BS. I'd rather have a different type of coach. I also don't like his offense. It has slowly migrated into Seneca park Sunday afternoon ball. If you are open shoot, if you got the ball drive. Hell I can coach that...
This is fact, myself and MANY MANY Card fans are fed up with his crap and publically degrating players that is for behind closed doors. He's not funny and needs to look in the mirror once and awhile. That Ego of his is his worst enemy in my opinion.
I'm a feed the bulldog guy Tim and I'm tired of ''BRIDGE'' years...GOD I HATE THAT TERM, and waiting till this guy or that guy shows up. It's time for a change and if you think I'm the only one that thinks this way, check the blogs and chatter, they are after his head.
One more thing I apprecaite the insult of saying the media makes up my mind I'm a little smarter than that, not much but a little. Pitino must go, new blood new attitude. You say Nunez can't play...why do you say that because Pitino says it, you quoted him verbatim in a earlier post. Game time trial by fire is the best teacher I've always thought so...
Re: Which game to watch tonight?????
Oh and one more thing. I read box scores and check players against each other.
Check minutes played between Siva and Justice and compare their assist to turnover ratio....
Siva is Edgar Sosa part two the sequel....A walking human turnover. Drive the lane like a crazed water bug and through it at Syracuse's basket for an easy dunk....OMG are kidding me.....lol
Re: Which game to watch tonight?????
Mark I gotta agree with you. I think it is time for some new blood in here. It won't happen till Pitino retires.
The grumblings in the locker room is that Nunez and Price are looking to transfer.
I think Rick is in a rut as well. I think he could leave and do a better job else where. He needs to get back to basics and quit trying to get come up with all these magical match ups.
Re: Which game to watch tonight?????
I got nothing better to do so I looked it up. Siva had 182 assist and 101 turnovers last season for a ratio of 1.8/1. This season he has 135 assist and 83 turnovers for a 1.63/1 ratio. He is right at 10% worse in his assist to turnovers ratio this year versus last. Per a chart on ESPN that was updated 2/13, he is not in the top 100 in the country. For a reference, Kendall Marshall of UNC leads the nation with a 3.84/1 ratio

Ryan I've been hearing the same thing about Zack and Angel. I wouldn't play for Pitino, he was a heck of a coach in his day, but I'm afraid his day has passed.

Proof to my point. Players are suppose to get better and progress forward, Siva is just the same or worse every year. The kid is an awesome human being I hear, good student, well mannered, considerate ect. But obviously has some kind of learning deficiency in basketball....

Mark, when comparing Siva to Justice, look at another stat that will tell you how ineffective Justice is. Look at offensive production for the team while Justice is in and compare it to offensive production of the team when Siva is on the court.
I wouldn't turn the ball over either if all I did was stand around and pass the ball from one side of the wing to the other. As soon as Justice comes in I figure it is okay to take a restroom break and make a sandwhich because the Cards are not going to score. The offense gets stagnant with him at the point.
As for the last play, Siva did that the entire time he played the second half. Drove the lane and dished to a big man for a layup or for them to draw the foul. No one seemed to have a problem with it then.

Where did I say that?
I showed you who the freshman are that have played and there are a lot. Nunez and Price are lucky to be playing at Louisville. Have you ever seen them play? I saw Price a few times last year and he struggled in high school games against 6'3 centers. How is he going to try and guard someone like Fab Mello or some of the other centers in the Big East.
As for Nunez, he can shoot and that is it. He needs to get on the juice and put on some muscle if he is going to be effective. Other than his jumper he brings nothing to the table.
I disagree that game time trial by fire is the best teacher. In a game, you make a mistake, there is no correcting it so you will continue to make the same mistakes over and over. You earn playing time in practice. Nunez was on the pre-game show with Paul Rogers before the game Monday night and admitted he is basically lost.
I also believe that the anti Pitino crowd is a very vocal minority from what I have seen.

I can't pass this one up. Pitino is past the point of no return. I said this here several times before. He has had year after year after year to get Louisville to be an elite team in the country and he can't even get them to elite status in their own conference. He has lost a step in his coaching abilities, either recruiting, motivating or his ability to hire the right assistant coaches but something is wrong. Add in what is happening 90 miles to the East sure isn't help relieve any pressure off him either.
Re: Which game to watch tonight?????
Where do you get the idea they are not elite in their conference? Last season they finished third in the Big East regular season and lost in the tournament finals to eventual national champion UConn. They are two years removed from winning both the regular season and tournament championships and back-to-back elite eights. Heck, put them in the SEC and they wopuld be in second place in the conference. Its not like they are competing against tomato cans every night. I am serious, I for the life of me can't understand some of these comments. Jeez, they lost by 1 point to a team that could win a national title this year and everyone acts like the sky is falling.
edited to add: Since U of L joined the Big east they lead the conference in wins.
Re: Which game to watch tonight?????
Geeez.. I know a couple guy's that need a day on the river with the Chuckster...lol

Come on Tim, you can't tell me the day Pitino came to Louisville however many years ago that you did not EXPECT better results than he has produced. I don't believe Louisville is a clear 2nd in the SEC because Vandy and Florida would have a bit to say about that. Yes Louisville beat Vandy, barely at Home without Vandy's big fella playing.
Be honest, the day Pitino signed with U of L did visions of National Titles dance in your head? Be honest.....
