From a ride quality standpoint, it's more like trading in a lawn tractor for a new Cadillac. Pontoons don't bust your but in a heavy chop like an aluminum V-hull does. I speakth with experience, and a sore lower back :-)
Stripernut, also consider a Cabana enclosure set of vinyl. Drops from the Bimini. 4 sides enclosed keeps the worst cold out, and a small heater like you saw on my boat makes these things feel like a Caddy with the defroster on during those 30 degree runs up the creeks.
Nobody ever said a guy has to be wet and cold to be a good fisherman.
