Re: You might be a fisherman, if...
You might be a fisherman if your truck no longer has that "new car" smell, but rather the smell of Garlic from the bottle of Spike-It sitting in your cup holder that you keep fogetting to put back in the boat...or you might be a fisherman if your truck never had that "new car" smell!
Or if you put a bottle of Spike-It in your cup holder to get RID of the "new car" smell!
I cut the hook off of a jig and I will pitch for hours to the neighbors kitten. She will hit it hard at times. I keep my eyes closed and it feels like a 7 pounder loading up!
I use a Zora spook, cause it lets me present the bait longer. Sometimes I bottom fish for squirrels. Drill a real little whole throw a walnut, run your line through that, and tie it off. Works great cause my trees are all oaks and they get tired of acorns. Cast it under the tree when they are on the ground bottom "bottom feeding". As soon as they find it, they know they got the only one, grab it, and start heading up the tree with it. Now if you think pulling a lunker bass out of mid summer water lillies is a hoot, you ought try yanking a 5 pound, 4 footed, screaming, and scampering squirrel out of a 75 foot oak tree once he's had time to get above the 30 foot level.
Caution-use a net, do not try to land them by hand. I wear my wedding ring on my thumb now, I know, believe me.
