I am guessing that not spending the monthly billions in Iraq would be a start.
Exactly!
3 or 4 TRILLION DOLLARS is a lot of money that's been wasted on Iraq.
Money that could have been spent here at home on developing alternative energy resources for our country
I hear today that there is now an electric car that can go 200 miles on one charge and can be recharged back up in 4 hours. And the batteries are much better now. And cheaper too.
We are not seeing Iraq paying for the Iraq War with the Iraq oil money! Didn't YOUR MAN CHENEY promise that Iraqi Oil would pay for the Iraqi War. But the truth is that your man CHENEY reached into our back pockets to take our hard earned money to pay for the war in Iraq.
And when it comes time to replace and repair all the used military equipment who's going to pay for that? You and me that's who. Iraqi's oil is selling on the market but somehow that's not meeting the worlds supply now. But we had plenty of oil for the world before the Iraq war.
Is Cheney making money off the Iraqi War and who's getting the billions of dollars from the Sale of Iraqi Oil now? It use to be Saddam Hussein that got the Iraqi Oil Money. So who's getting it now. If Iraq is making money on their oil sales then why are we using US tax dollars to rebuild Iraq? Why are they not using their own money to rebuild the Iraq cities?
Bush/Cheney is tax you to pay for the Iraqi War Folks.
Last time I checked, people can retire whenever they want to. It's thinking like the above quote that has people following the government around like drones waiting to be told what to do with their lives.
Regarding receiving your social security checks when you retire!
There is nothing wrong at all about getting some social security for your retirement. In fact most folks are waiting to retire and get their social security checks after they reach 62 years old.
It's thinking like yours that what wrong here. My thinking is just fine and dandy.
You said the following:
"Last time I checked, people can retire whenever they want to."
Now you know well that not every can retire whenever they want to. That's really a false statement or should I say it's more like wishful thinking.
Now if you have the money to retire and not work anymore , more power to you. But if you chose to retire before 62 you area still going to have to wait until you can get your social security checks.
Bush would have you waiting until you were 70 years old before you start drawing on social security. Perhaps McBush will do follow Bush's policy on moving back the retirement age for social security.
Moose I am with you on your last post ...Just where to hell is the money going
? I wish my dear old departed dad had invested in oil stocks and ammunition factories cause my mom would not be worried about how to pay for her medications or groceries. Instead he invested in Anheiser Busch Oh wait a minute maybe we have stock somewhere after all cause looks like the last great vestige of an American company is leaving us too 45 BILLION for a brewery business . Dad, too bad you didn't get some stock certificates with all the Bud you bought over the years..

Depending on social security checks for after-retirement funding is a risky proposition at best regardless of the retirement age. I wouldn't depend on the government to come thru on that, even though it is money that YOU contributed over your years of work service.
You can retire at whatever age you wish. You just can't get social security checks until X age, whatever that is.
Moose I guess you have never heard of any " Little Johnny Jokes in your lifetime "
I guess I should have stated that my last post about Hussein Obama was a joke, in case some people don't recognize a joke when they read one.....
Well EXCUSEEEEEE MEEEEE!
Didn't look like any good jokes I have seen on here.
You want to call it a joke? OK fine. But it didn't look like a joke at all.
Yea I have heard most of the "little Mary Jane" joke but not one was anything close to your post.

Ask not what your country can do for you.... Ask what you can do for your country!
I doubt that Cheney would agree with the above statment!

Still waiting for an answer on this one, Moose. You've replied to lots of other posts in this thread. Surely you wouldn't use a phrase you can't--or won't--define?
