Revelations was written in AD96. There will be two prophets that will rise from the dead; It will happen in the streets of Israel while people are watching.
I don't think I'm the one who got an eye put out; in fact, I know that I didn't.
What about the Galactic aleignment of the Sun, the Earth and the Milky Way's Black Hole which will cause "Pole Shift" and is predicted for that day?
Grumpy
The Geomagnetic Pole reversal is part of a THEORY that sunspot activity influences the geomagnetic field when there is near perfect alignment of the Sun, Earth, and Jupiter (not the Milky Way's Black Hole). It supposedly occurs on average every 400,000 years but the last was 730,000 years ago. One theory is that it will probably reverse on December 2, 2012 and another theory is that it will probably reverse on December 12, 2012. There have been only 200 reversals over the last 178,000,000 years.

The stuff I read about Pole Shift said that it happens every 25,800 years, but I guess the Bible is not the only thing that is open to interpretation.

Will not make any difference as the gravitational pull of all those will not cause any pole shift. Aligments of various planets and other objects occur all the time and nothing happens. I'll have to dig around a little as I believe you are correct about the shifts roughly every 25k.
Bug, still looking for those "scientists" who will be made to look like fools when the earth does not come to an end in Dec 2012. Using the google searches that Grumpy suggested just came up with scientists not worried about the 2012 nonsense. Astrology sites, yeah, some concern there. I agree with you on that part. I take anything that astrologers say with a large grain of salt.

Well actually, The rate of reversals in the Earth's magnetic field has varied widely over time. 72 million years ago (Ma), the field reversed 5 times in a million years. In a 4-million-year period centered on 54 Ma, there were 10 reversals; at around 42 Ma, 17 reversals took place in the span of 3 million years. In a period of 3 million years centering on 24 Ma, 13 reversals occurred. No fewer than 51 reversals occurred in a 12-million-year period, centering on 15 million years ago. These eras of frequent reversals have been counterbalanced by a few "superchrons" – long periods when no reversals took place.[4]
It had generally been assumed that the frequency of geomagnetic reversals is random; in 2006, a team of physicists at the University of Calabria found that the reversals conform to a Lévy distribution, which describes stochastic processes with long-ranging correlations between events in time.[5]
All that said, does that mean its a bad time to buy a new compass for my boat?
Now I'm going to go finish my laundry before my t-shirts become magnetized and stick to the dryer sheets again.
