Re: Asian carp taste good?
I saw that show. Ole Tim said up front he had a back up plan. Throw the carp in his compost pile. They would make a very good soil enhancer.
I need a really big trolling net. Bow fishing them is just not efficient.
how not? i was there the other day and i must have had 50-60 EASY shots less then 10 ft from the boat. and about 10 to pick from at a time.lol.
Re: Asian carp taste good?
You know someone said in an earlier post that this might be just some plot by kwfd to get us interested in those things. I mean Tim Farmer comparing it to crappie and bluegill? I was surprised at the size of the fish and no more meat than he got off it. I have yet to see one or be in any waters where they are. If they fight anything like a grass carp whow caddie-bar the door!

Embrey, I need to cover 68 acres with them.
Can you imagine the smell for a week, still would be worth it.
Re: Asian carp taste good?
I think I would rather take my chances with wild fish than some farm raised fish. At least with fish I catch, I know where they came from and how they are being cleaned. Not going to eat a lot from the Ohio though.
Re: Asian carp taste good?
Like the saying goes, "15 bazillion Chinamen can't be wrong." I love bowfishing, but haven't been able to get out for a couple yrs. But, I would at least taste-test them before passing judgement.
Re: Asian carp taste good?
Just picked up on this post today about eatin asian "crap". Still from reading the post(s) still don't know if they taste good?? So, guess I'll have to wait until the "Bro" cooks up a few of them....:D:D:D and tell us they taste just like "chicken". :p:p

Re: Asian carp taste good?
I hear you about the bleeding. My son and I had a big one jump in the boat about ten tears ago on the Mississippi. It jumped around from the front to the back and blood every wear. Took us an hour to clean it up. We had never heard of these things back then. A memorable experience.

Re: Asian carp taste good?
I was all ways told if it looks like shzit smells like shzit then it is shzit no need to stick it in your mouth and taste it.. But it's killing me and i want to try it. If it is nasty I would let you know. I'm pretty picky when it comes to fish. I eat very little crappie because it is mushy.
