I'm not sure the means of getting the economy turned around in the right direction is justified by the means? How much money was wasted by Congress under Bush and Obama in the forms of bailouts? The people who can't handle the money were given more and the people who could not either pay their own or manage what they take got more responsibility.
BTW anyone else paying more in Federal taxes?? I am and I'm not rich. It started this year... Was there a promise that middle class was going to get a tax cut or at least not pay more? Anyone else get an increase?
Yep, Im bringing home 7 less dollars a week, under George Jefferson's watch.
Not sure if you got a raise last year or not Mhall but if you didn't you're check is probably more than seven dollars short. Mine is fifteen short per week (due to the higher cost of health insurance), and this doesn't add the cost of inflation and the fact that no raises were given last year where I work. So really I'm probably about $25.00 dollars short per week.
Yea...the construction industry is pathetic at best. We have a few things cookin', but none of these projects are ready to remove from the stove and dive into just yet. So in the long haul I think we might have some work coming down the pike, but right now it's bleak...VERY bleak! 2010 will definitely separate the men from the boys so to speak in the construction industry as far as who's going to have work and who ain't.
(P.S. - I know I said I wasn't going to comment on this thread again, but since it got away from being political I figured I would).
Same here man. Got the verbal on several jobs but still haven't received the Purchase Order. We are bidding like crazy!! Alot of it is from people holding off from last year and now everyone is hungry to fill the pipe line. If we get a small percentage of what we are bidding we will be ok but right now contractors are taking these jobs at small margins and at times below my cost.
Makes it tough to make profits with moves like that and the fellas taking this stuff at cost have to rob peter to pay paul and that won't last.
Thank goodness we are a systems integrator that has several divisions to work with.

Caught an interview of her on Bill O'Reilly last night. I can't help but like her....I am still reading her book and to the part about how she lost her run for the Lt Gov race in Alaska.
