Answers...
Don't know
More than everyone else
No as many as the Cats
Kentucky Wildcats...
That is one fact that cannot be argued...Most wins...UK.....
MHall how can you say UK is not an elite program....how can you say the school with the MOST wins in the history of college basketball is not an elite program....please sir, enlighten me
Mark, you said "an ELITE" originally.
Truth be ABSOLUTELY told about it UK is THE ELITE team in college basketball. Anyone that takes a look at the program from start to finish, year in and year out over the history of basketball will come to the same theory.
UCLA had 7 titles in a row but take that out and what do you got, NOTHING but 1 title in the 90's and with 11 total but 7 in a row, not consistent enough over the HISTORY.
From the beginning to today, UK has been the best College Basketball team in america. Titles spread out consistently thru the years, sent their entire starting 5 to represent the USA in the Olympics (I think it was 1948 when they did this), All Americans spread out thru the years, Dominated their conference year in and year out. More wins than any other school. 100 NCAA Tourney victories. Has more Conference Championships than all othe other schools combined in the SEC. Fans follow this team more than ANY other team in the country. Most highly publicized and most pressured Head Coaching Job in any sport college or pro.
Indiana and UNC and Duke all don't have the titles, wins, conference championships, final fours, All Americans, HISTORY to hold a candle to UK.
All of the above are the Elite of College Basketball but UK is THE ELITE, truth be told about it. Take off the Cardinal Blinders and put aside the Hate for the BIG BLUE and use some rationale non-biased thinking and there is no other solution to the question.

Where in this thread do I say that UK is not an Elite program, **** guys I'm not stupid. Didn't say it nor did I even insinuate it. My post which started with typical UK bs was in defense of Louisville not a Kentucky put down.
And just for the record Elnut..........Kentucky will always be chasing UCLA. A dominance that will never be matched...EVER again in college basketball, so you take the blueneck blinders off because The Bruins coached by the greatest coach that's ever walked the earth had like 7 National titles in a ROW, and 10 total.

Wonder how many of them would be stripped with today's rules...???

Probably NONE, Coach Wooden was one of the strictest displinary type coaches ever. He was never even looked at for wrong doings his entire career. Surely you guys aren't gonna start waling on Wooden, OMG.

That 7 year dominance WILL NEVER BE REACHED, I totally agree. Different era today and 18 year old high school senior STUD basketball players are not the same kids they were in 1969 (middle of UCLA's dominance). You have kids that are 20 or so, I have a daughter that just turned 21 Monday plus an 19 yr old daughter and our 6 year old son. My 6 year old can work an IPod better than me, my 21 year old is not the same as when I was 21. 18 year olds today are exposed and know way more than 18 year old did 20 years ago and how advanced are they today versus 40 years ago. More choices and today the WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME ATTITUDE, not WHAT HAVE YOU DONE IN THE PAST ATTITUDE. 18 year old STUD basketball players don't care about tradition, don't care if a school has won championships it is all about 1 or 2 years in college and then to the pros. UK will always chasing UCLA in the number of NCAA titles, currently 11 to 7, but UCLA will always be chasing UK in the number of wins, number of conference championships, number of NCAA tourney appearances and number of NCAA tourney victories. Currently 11 to 7, soon to be 11 to 8 in NCAA tourney titles and UK is a hell of a lot closer to 9, 10 and 11 than UCLA is to 12. UK will be chasing UCLA in that category but it would not suprise me if that margin does not close by a couple more before Callipari leaves. For whatever reason, legal or illegal, he gets more talent than any other coach year after year and with the fan support and facilities at UK there is no telling how many championships he could have in a couple more years. Wooden is the best mens coach in history ("greatest coach that ever walked the face of the earth", questionable Pat Summit, Phil Jackson both would be in that conversation), Rupp is in that conversation along with Dean Smith and I don't know which is number 2 and 3. Rupp left, Hall kept it up, Idiot Drunk boy Sutton destroyed it, Pitino rebuilt it, Tubby kept it up, Idiot Drunk boy Gillespie destroyed it and Callipari has done what NOBODY thought would happen this year. NOBODY expected UK to be a 2:1 favorite to win the NCAA title in 2010 with 4 games left in the tourney. NOBODY expected 2 losses the entire year so far this year. WHEN UK wins the title in a couple of weeks all that is going to do is keep the top recruits coming and he will sell them on the idea of playing together for 1 year or 2 and the ball will keep rolling down hill. Can you imagine how many titles Pitino would have had if not for him going to Boston. 96-97-98 is the greatest 3 year run since UCLA and the ball could not have been rolling downhill any faster. Callipari is about to be in the same position. I do expect UK to win the title this year and do expect them to have a down year next year, unless we get the Brandon Knight kid who was just voted the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year. But Callipari will reload, while most programs rebuild. UK is the ELITE team in college basketball and EVERYONE is chasing them for that title.
