Re: Monticello, Ky. man gets caught cheating in annual big fish tourney on Cumberland
[QUOTE=sglass;410921]BBC board has his last name posted. I am sure alot of the story is getting twisted around pretty good but if it is true this guy should never be allowed to fish again in the state of KY.

You're right. This thread (there are actually two threads) is on fire on BBC right now. I'm subscribed to all of them (here and there) so that I can stay updated on the situation. If law enforcement had been involved, we would be hearing about it in the media -- evening news and newspapers. As it is and the way the situation was handled we will only hear about it in the forums:mad:. However, it is spreading like wildfire.
Re: Monticello, Ky. man gets caught cheating in annual big fish tourney on Cumberland
I just got this weeks Sports Illustrated and they had a little clip.
"A 45 year old Texas man pleaded guilty to attempted felony theft and was sentenced to 15 days in jail for stuffing a 1lb lead weight down the mouth of a bass in order to win $55,000 fishing tournament."
Not the exact same thing but a cheater is a cheater, and this dude has a felony theft conviction to follow him around the rest of his life. One other thing, SI didnt post the dudes name either, and Im sure they had it.
Re: Monticello, Ky. man gets caught cheating in annual big fish tourney on Cumberland
Mr. Rose was his name. Long time winner of many tournaments down in Texas. Finally caught his butt. Wish they would of put some lead down his throat and thrown him in Lake Fork!
Re: Monticello, Ky. man gets caught cheating in annual big fish tourney on Cumberland
Smoke there is an artical about this on bassfan and it lists that guys name, he was prosocuted so his name got released. I agree that the people running the tourney at burnside should not have let this guy off the hook. He is lible to do it again and not many know who he is. They should have called the police and let him weigh his fish in, like they did the boys at ky lake several years ago, they busted them the same way by marked fish, they should not have let this happen this way as it will only hurt that circut i hate to see and hear of cheaters in this sport, but with times like they are and money tight stuff like this will happen. It is sad, but like they said above no crime was commeted but one was attempted.
Re: Monticello, Ky. man gets caught cheating in annual big fish tourney on Cumberland
I want to know these guy's names, but I want to hear it from a statement from thier tounament director. If this does not take place, then he should be a former tounament director and be banned from tournament fishing and directing himself. Liars, cheats and thives should not fish. Go steal a can of spam!
