I would also caution anyone with regards to Shepherd's Chapel being a resource for sound doctrine. While he is very likable on screen and pleasing to listen to there is a lot out there for anyone wanting to learn more about his unorthodox interpretations in some areas that simply fall outside of the parameters of commonly recognized and accepted Christian theology.
If someone is looking for a good resource to learn more about the bible I would strongly recommend instead of Murray's Shepherd's Chapel they try something like Dr. J. Vernon McGee's "Through The Bible". You can listen online and over a span of five years you can listen to his commentary/exposition of the entire bible.
While degrees of course are not a prerequisite for anyone being a good bible teacher when there are already some red flags and questions marks as with Murray IMO it is simply wise to consider that he wasn't ordained from any recognized denomination accept his own church and there is no documentation of any of his training or schooling that he has ever made available.
In comparisons Dr. McGee was an ordained Presbyterian minister and has recognized degrees in theology. (B.D. from Columbia Theological Seminary;Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary)
