SLP and jcb, appreciate the explanations and link.
Regarding homosexuality as "wrong". I don't think we can claim it wrong or right, it just is. Same for heterosexuality. Claiming someone is wrong (or a sinner) because they are homosexual is akin to saying someone is wrong because they are blood type O, or have brown hair, or blue eyes, or brown skin, etc. You are born that way, it is not a choice and not something that you can change. For those who think it is a choice, try living as a homosexual for a month and let us know how easy it is. Also consider that there are documented cases of same sex coupling in over 100 different animal species. Its just part of nature. Why, no idea!
That's a crock of horse dung,in nature you won't find same sex animal species having sex unless there is some species that reproduces that way.I've been an outdoorsman and farmer my whole life and you might find a dog whos hormones get carried away hunching on somebodies leg,but they don't consummate the deal.If homosexualty was the norm then our species would die out.
That's the same crap as nitpicking from the Bible as you say,if you actually knew about the Bible as many don't,you would understand that Jesus taught the Old testmanent Laws stood,it states in numerous places that sex outside of marriage is a sin,and that marriage is to be considered between a Man and a Woman.I'm not a Bible scholar and can't quote the exact scripture, but these can ALL be found in the New Testament.
You seem to have a problem with Christians, well wait until your Messiah Obama finishes his handiwork of allowing thousands of Muslims to pour into this county for the ongoing Muslim Crusade against Christianity.Take a look around the world,Muslims are killing Christians as fast as they can everywhere, coming to a neighborhood near you soon. The Muslim minority and helped by the UN just murdered 1000 Christians last night in Central Africa.
What you Liberals will soon learn though,is that Muslims don't give any considerations to any other religion or way of thinking,it's their way or beheading. They will kill Homosexuals as fast as a Christian, yet Lberals want to support Muslims?

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here's why I regret breaking my self-imposed vacation from the Off-Topic board. Up until this point this discussion was a pretty good example of people with differing views being able to be civil toward each other.

I'll dig up some articles for you when I have a few more minutes. Heading out to enjoy some time with my family in a few. No reproduction involved, but there are numerous examples of same sex animal coupling.
Never suggested that it was the norm, just that it happens plenty of times in nature and not just with humans. You are correct that if it was the norm the species would die out.
...if you actually knew about the Bible ...
Read it front to back, but certainly do not know it like some folks. That is why I asked a few questions: those who knew better could teach me something. I certainly do not know everything and am happy to learn something new.
You seem to have a problem with Christians,
I have no problems with Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, flying spaghetti monsters, or any other religion. I have a problem with some people taking extreme views and trying to dictate to others what their views should be. I would say the same for those lacking religion who did the same. I fully support you being able to believe anything that you want, so long as you do not try to force those views on me or others.
your Messiah Obama
I am an atheist, I have no messiah. Did not vote for obama either. If you want to equate Obama with the son of your god, that is on you.
The rest of the crap you posted is not worthy of any response.

We can still be civil and I have certainly appreciated hearing your view point and even learned a few things.

It seems to be difficult to have a civil discussion about any subject that Mr. Fanatic takes a part in.. Don't remember running across anybody with as much hate in him as he seems to have.

Ironically, I just watched a show on showtime about the country music singer Chely Wright who came out and told the world she was gay. I never knew and the show made me realize the painful side that some people face when trying to come out.
I still stand by my beliefs on gays but I'm a little more understanding about their situation especially with their family and friends. I'm betting most of you know who she is and will agree she is hot! A little to skinny for me but very pretty.
I really don't know what her career is like now and maybe coming out killed her career?? I'll have to look into it.

Flying?
Cool.
Spaghetti?
Delicious.
Monsters?
Awesome.
But put them all together?
That's just wrong...not natural.

For anyone interested, a few articles online that discuss homosexuality in other animals. Apparently I was wrong in quoting that such behavior has been observed in 150 different species. That number is actually 1500.

A summary in Wiki that seems to be consistent with other studies. Also addresses "prison sex": more of a dominance thing than actual homosexual behavoir.

apb, you and these articles are correct--and there's a link between them. A lot of the "homosexual behavior" observed in animals has nothing to do with sexual preference, but with establishing dominance. Regardless, do we really want to argue that because a behavior occurs in the animal world, that behavior should be validated in humans?
