It's a shame that I'm figuring this out now
Again I'm not voting in todays primary.I've been given a choice between AIDS or cancer. Yes there are congressional choices, but will my vote matter??? Who ever is elected, will one day answer the the "knock at the door", and there will be a well dressed stranger, with a bag of cash, telling who ever won, how to vote. Wont be me, I couldn't even lift that many pennies.
I use to think that it was a duty and a privaledge to vote in this country. But the people who get into office don't ever do what I hoped they would do for me. Like you said they answer to the carpet baggers who knock on their office door with tons of cash to hand out. So that is why I clicked on the like button for your post in this new thread.
I usedto and maybe will again
My first official ballot was an absentee cast in germany while I was in the service. and I never failed to vote till last years govenors race. I had two choices then, as now, bad and worse. Opting out is also a choice we have,In my opinion casting a ballot just to vote, is carrying on what is happening. I don't know if you've noticed, but I refrain from any discussion on state politics, because I gave that right up. I think that Bernie is an honest man, but some of ideas are misguided. Hillary is owned by wall street, and the banking industry IMHO
Hell they only let us vote for two guys/gals at one time .
"If voting made any difference, they wouldn't let us do it."
They pick and choose who runs and who gets nominated in the primaries. Think Super Delegates in the Democratic Primaries. Hillary already had all those Super Delegates pledged to vote for her before the people's voting even started. Not sure how the GOP does their primaries but they did have 16 different candidates running for the Presidency. And of all of those the only one to come out on top was Donald Trump? To me that says a whole lot about the state of the GOP these days.
I have never voted in a primary before and probably won't start now. I have voted in the presidential elections ever since I turned 18 years old. I vote absentee these days as it's so much easier. They send me a ballot and I fill it out and mail it back in. Do they count it? Heck if I know for sure. But I'm not really keen on any of the two possible canidates for either party. I fear that Trump will run reckless and get us into a shooting war with either Russia or China or both at the same time with his mouth and lack of discipline in foreign affairs. And with him holding the nuclear codes really scares the you know what out of me.
Hillary wants to ban my AR15 and my 30 round magazines and I hate the though of a post menopausal woman in the White House. Sorry but the White House and this country needs a MAN in control of the Country not a **** woman. Why the Dems even considered running a woman for the job is beyond me. That along is about enough to make me vote for Bernie. Bernie is less enthusiastic about going after our guns as compared to Hillary. They will get my AR15 by prying it out of my cold dead hands. it's stupid to try to ban guns as then only law obiding citizens will give up their guns voluntarily. The criminals will never give them up no matter what the law says. I go by the 2nd amendment and consider any law that violates the 2nd amendment as unconstitutional and void. This bypassing the 2nd amendment is pure BS. They don't have the guts or the votes to change the 2nd amendment the proper way as outlined in the US Constitution. They go around the back door and bypass the requirements that are written in the Constitution on how to change it. The US Supreme court needs to rethink how they vote on this issue. And I'm sort of glad that they GOP is not letting Obama's Supreme Court nominees get a vote in the Senate as he would swing the court even further to the left when it comes to guns. Now I'd like to see him appointed for his views on protecting the environment as I want air emissions and water pollution controlled better. So I have mixed emotions about this Supreme Court Nomination Process right now. I'm hard right on the Gun issues and hard left on the Environmental Issues. I'm more of an Izaak Walton type guy than a Sierra Club person. But both organizations are for protecting the environment which includes the fish and wildlife we hunt and we humans. I'm definitely not a PETA person at all. I think that most of them are NUTS. Anyone who kisses their dog after it licks it's butt is NUTS and just asking for a tape worm infestation. LOL. Actually I like dogs and cats but I will never think of them as human or dress them up in outfits. That's just plain disgusts me.
