Biden is sending attack helicopters and F35 fighter jets to the Balkans and arming our NATO allies just in case Russia decided to attack others around Ukraine.

Well thats good so far. Now to really punish the russiians and prepare us, as well as help consumers, business, and the supply chain, POTUS needs "AS A STATE OF EMERGENCY ACT", reopen our oild and gas drilling, go full blast toward energy independence, refill our reserves so we have it if the worst happens, reduce the apin at the pump, and reduce transportaion costs to a supply chain that is struggling to fill shelfs, to support consumers, and increase retail sales helping busines while collecting more sales tax for all programs.
Get the Candian pipeline going again.

You will do what the politicans tell us to do. But I see your point. Wars are hell and I would not want my kids going to war either unless it was to protect our country from attack.
But remember that Hitler's U-boats were sinking American ships off the coast of New Jersey for years before Pearl Harbor and the start of WWII for the USA against Japan and then Germany. All due to a war in Europe. So we are tied to Europe and a war in Ukraine influences all of Europe and the USA.

So in fact we did stay out as long as we could hoping Europe would take care of it, and when it totally got out of control, then we made the rightful decision to get involved.
And by the way, we the US was right at the end of the American Dustbowl, and the Great Depression, and with an antiquated and undermanned Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, so righfully, yea....we didn't sit on our hands......we built the capability and entered when we could.

We also had the Brits helping us fight on the Western front.

Agreed, whole new set of capabilites. As an old tanker comparing fire control equipment, I'd say a T-84 could have taken on 10 King Tigers and come out on top.
