Ok, I want an opinion from the fishermen. What do you guys think of this radio show. I am considering linking to it from Fishin.com.. Listen to this show and if you get a chance to others and let me know what you think. Would this benefit the anglers on this site to have this resource.. AND if we could produce such shows online would you listen in?The Radio show above can be brought up and listened to while you surf. Matter of fact I am listening to it as I post this.
PLEASE Give me some feedback..
ALSO.. We are considering some other media. Would you be interested in Podcasts of Video from other anglers / Fishing Trips/ Tournaments / and other fishing related videos that might be produced by users of the site?
How many of you know what a Podcast is?
How many of you HAVE a Pod? (Hell what is one.. LOL, I have heard of Podcasting, but thought it was a new fishing reel till recently)
ALSO would you pay for any of these services, or object to ads that might be imbedded to pay for them. (Obviously if we offer something it will need to generate revenue.)
On another note... I want to provide as much information as the site can. Is there anything you feel the site needs to add.. OTHER than Kentucky and Tennessee Fishing reports. I am aware of the dearth of reports.. but please understand smaller lakes like Nolin, Rough, T-ville are heavily pressured but have no fishing guides. WE do accept other reports but getting regular reports on smaller lakes is tough, and Kentucky has fewer guides who are net savvy than Florida and Texas. No offense to the guides meant.

A reel (intentional misspell) opinion.....
Jim,
I don't have access to broadband here in the country, and my dial up speed is extremely slow, 28.8.
That is the only reason I am not interested. When I still had my office in town and had broadband, I did watch and listen to video or radio type interviews at bassfan.com. So, yes, if I had the connection speed needed to do so, I would really enjoy it.

Hey Jim,
You asked for it so here is my 2 cents. I DO NOT want to pay for some BS video to play while I am surfing the discussion board. I am not for sure how everyone else feels however I come to fishin.com to see what the discussions are about and to find answers or input to questions I personally have ( i.e. the jack plate issue). I do not know what the monetary direction that you and Peter have decided to go in with fishin.com but if it was to come down to everytime I log onto fishin.com I am getting pop ups wanting mne to purchase something or some video just automatically starting I will start finding other ways to get my information. Please do not take this wrong as I love coming to this site just the way it is. Thanks and thats my 2 cents worth.

RE: Services Expansion Fishin.com
Marty, there would be no popups, there would be no videos on the board.. this would be an OPTIONAL service. You could post YOUR videos of your fishing trips and we would tag them with ads from tackle dealers etc.. They pay you do not..
We could also produce video's for you to use on the water for things like Float and Fly, Various knots etc.. that you could view while on the water to learn a new technique or way to fish a bait.
OR we could provide podcasts of Audio or Video and require ONLY THOSE ITEMS to have a Membership to download.
We are not changing the board, but we do need to create revenue streams. Failure to do so would be stupid as far as business is concerned.
We are trying to find things that you guys might be interested in, like the radio show I have posted the link to.

RE: Services Expansion Fishin.com
Jim,
I enjoyed the radio show and would be interested in the option of linking to such sites in the future on the board. There is a wide variety of interest for those who acess this site and the more "bells and whistles" you could offer would, in my opinion, expand the knowledge of the sport.
I don't post often because I would rather listen than talk, but I have learned SO much from this site and visit it often.
I appreciate the fact that you included us in your market research and allowing us to voice our opinion of fishin.com.
Concerning Podcasts, I think it would be a great teaching tool to see a short video clip of someone from this site demonstrating the FNF on Dale or Cumberland or Dave Stewart demonstrating the Carolina rig on Kentucky! The possibilities are endless!
Some of us are visual learners!
