RE: Looking for a new rod.
IMO--- Ihave a 7-0' BPS Extreme MH. I have found this rod very versitile from small cranks to c-rigging. Good backbone and soft tip. And also alot cheaper than the g-loomis.
RE: Looking for a new rod.
There are some G-Loomis rods on the tackle box board.
RE: Looking for a new rod.
My personal favorite is the 3 power loomis. I like the 7 foot rods. Plenty of tip and strength. Rods longer than 7 foot can get tip heavy if you don't watch out.
RE: Looking for a new rod.
Go with an All Pro. You will never even look at another rod.
RE: Looking for a new rod.
Chub I dont think you'll be happy with the CBR'S as all purpose rods
while they are awesome rods(I have 2 843's,1 903) I think setting the hook on a fish with a worm or jig would leave alot to be desired.I think if you look in the gl 2 or the gl 3 series you might find what your lookin for as they seem to be less specific and more general in their use :-)
RE: Looking for a new rod.
I say that you get GLOOMIS CBR843, 7'-0"M, 8-14lb, 1/4"-5/8"
Its very nice Ive used it before!!!!!
RE: Looking for a new rod.
Falcon offers a 6'7" weightless worm rod. It is a lowrider model. Just what you are looking for at reel affordable price. If you live in the Louisville area go see Gary Ball at Smyrna Bait & Tackle. Falcon makes a quality rod. Should cost aorund $100.00.
RE: Looking for a new rod.
Chubminnow. If you're close to Lincoln Co. I might have one for you.
I need to thin down on some Equipment.Ive got G Loomis,All Star,
and can order any brand you want. Ray 606-355-7544 Bass Pro Shop brand.
A little different idea....
This won't work for G-Loomis, but it may help if you decide to try a different brand, but you may need to wait a couple of months.
I see where someone suggested a $100 Falcon rod... I have a falcon that I love... but only paid $49 for it. I got mine at Uncle Lee's at the turn of the year ... a couple of years ago. I watch for when the tackle gets marked down. You can save a bundle and get some very nice tackle to boot. As an example, this is the first year in 6 years that I have had to buy hooks. I bought a bunch of Owner hooks for less than half price at Wal Mart. This year was the first year I ran out and had to re-supply. I love shopping at Wal Mart in November for the mark downs!!!
So, the moral of the story is to watch places like Uncle Lee's and get the best of the best at close out prices at the end of each year.
Good luck,
Tight lines and God Bless

Is Uncle Lee's in Beaver Dam?
I Have passed a Uncle Lee's near the rest area on the WK. If this is the correct Uncle Lee's, how do we get to it from the WK
Thanks
Ben
RE: A little different idea....
Ben,
Uncle Lee's is in Powderly. To get there from the WK parkway, assuming you coming from the east, the best way would be to take the exit numbered 58... at Central City. Go toward town to the first traffic light. There is a gas station/convient store on your right. Take a left at that traffic signal. The road will eventually turn to a 4 lane highway. You will see Uncle Lee's over on your right. Take the next road to the right, hang another right, and you will be right there.
If you like shoping for all things outdoors, it's a great place to be. They have a huge selection of rifles, handguns, shotguns, bows, etc.... plus a regular general store, not to mention the largest selection of tackle in the area. I love to spend time there.
Here's their phone number if you need it....
270-338-5866
If you have your cell phone and get lost, you can give them a call for directions.
Good luck,
Tight lines and God Bless
