creek bag

Ive been using a fanny/ waist pack for creek fishing for many years. i have been looking hard for the past few weeks for something different. i am tired of drying everything out after getting into semi- deep holes. i think a chest pack is the way i want to go but am having trouble finding one that seems to look right for what id be needing it for.

I don't want it to go much below my ribs. i need a couple of good sized pockets for a couple plano compartment boxes and then one for a bunch of soft plastics. i also think to have a back where i could get a hydration pack would really be a good thing.

I'm not tryin to spend more than 75 at the most and if i could keep it under 50 that would be even better. any suggestions from the creekers out there?

I use a bookbag/backpack. It allows me to carry more than one rod. It will also allow you to adjust it to about rib high.
I have packed it full and I have packed it light...LOL...
I carry a couple of small boxes and some plastic. I have a small first aid kit, couple of bottles of water and some grubb.

I didn't really think about a regular backpack, which i have a couple. but i was hoping for something with actual pockets in the front for quick and easy access. most of the ones i find have fold down station for tying or rolling or whatever you want to use it for. they all seem to be designed for fly fisherman, which i am not, and have things that i do not need or want. still looking.
found a SWEET one in europe, but am having trouble contacting them.
Billy i know you fish with a lot of guys in the creeks, you know anybody else that has some sort of pack like this that they really enjoy?

This time of year would be a good time to look into the different bags in the hunting section of retail stores. I have a couple of different packs that I use for different hunting situations and there are numerous set ups. May just be able to find what you are looking for well unger the 75.00 range. Some are even add a pack set ups that you can put together and build it piece by piece to suit your needs from one trip to the next.

Maybe try Ebay and type in Army back pack or surplus, Ive done a search for duffel bags to keep all the soft plastic in, and ive seen alot of packs that might interest you. Hope this helps..Brian

I'm using a small backpack. It's probably about half the size of a normal school backpack.

i like the mesh backpacks, they wont fill up with water after leaving a deep hole.

Ive been using a lumbar pack that I origionally bought years ago for turkey hunting (gave up the persuit). I am able to cary 4 fmall boxes as well as a few bags of plastics, water, a snack, and some smokes. I only cary one rod when I go (i've learned to retie fast). Love to wade ceeks more than any other type of fishing. Good luck to ay man.

Thanks for the responses. i've been looking pretty hard, made a trip to sportsmans last night to see what they had to offer and might have found the one thats gonna do it, now i just hope i can find it online cheaper and not in burnt orange.

I like Billy's bookbag/backpack setup...it lets him carry a second rod, which I can't do. He may look like he's late for homeroom, but it works. :D

I'm going to do the same thing. I may even carry my lunch in a Roy Rogers lunchbox too.
