Bout ready to BUST!
Its 19 degrees outside. Its less than 2 months away from my spring trip to KY Lake. After reading the other post about KY Lake crappie in spring, I am about ready to BUST!
Sure, I live in Louisville, the Ohio River is just minutes away. I could go there. But every day I have a chance its too high. I went monday with no luck. Next week, its going to be too high.....I certainly hope the fishing gods will shine on me soon!
Who else is ready to bust, and if you aren't, what are you doing to keep from doing so?

Feel the same way, Ohio river is my fall back spot this time of the year (sauger) but it's on the rise and not sure when it will settle down and clear up .... That being said, my new love is FNF for smallmouth, so I'm off to Lake Cumberland/Dale Hollow next week. NOT SURE I WANT WINTER TO END....LOL...LOL... Bad weather = great SM and sauger fishing.
BUT, to be honest, can't wait for the KY/Barkley crappie bite and about the same time "pre spawn bass. Just love to be A FISHING! (AND RETIRED!!!)
Good Fishing to all,
Gary

Re: Bout ready to BUST!
Well to solve my winter blues I am heading down to FL on my anual trip to catch a bunch of bass and might even do some crappie fishing. Weather down there is in high 70's with scattered 80's. Oh boy can't wait I'm leaving on the 8th

Re: Bout ready to BUST!
Me too, 'bout ready to bust myself. Looking at catalogs and web sites (like this one) helps while away the time until I can go, probably next week. Plus, I recently started casting my own jigheads, and this is a great foul-weather pastime. Now, when I do get the hang of jig-fishing, I'll have the added satisfaction of doing it on ones I made myself. Plus, I filed my taxes yesterday, so I'll be headed to BPS (aka Toys R Us for grownups) for my first baitcaster before too long. Anticipation...

Re: Bout ready to BUST!
Here's something you can do that helps a little. Go through all your bags and boxes and clean, organize and cut off all the line tags and knots off the eyes and swivel rings. Saves time when you are chunkin and windin later. Oh yea watch fishing videos while you do it. Or sit in your easy chair take a jig and cut off the hook and flip it at your wifes cat, it's big fun, they fight pretty good too. My wife doesn't like it to much though, LOL.
