CatFish eH !

A TWRA Fisheries Biologist recently distributed this e-mail to his counterparts across the state.

"Attached are a couple of photos of a monster blue catfish caught near Greenville, Mississippi by an elderly man who let the fish go after his wife took the pictures. The weight of the catfish is unknown, though some catfish anglers guessed it to be at least 150 pounds. It looks like 200 pounds to me. For sure it would have been a new world record."

It's nice to see somebody practicing C&R with a true trophy like that. Hard telling how old that fish is.

I told my son, I bet the fish is every bit 100 years old or older...Man what a fish I must admit........:)

That pic has been circulating for a few months now. Needless to say it has all of us hardcore Catmen drooling and our jaws dropping. Just by the pics and (there were several more pics posted somewhere), we estimated that cat to weigh between 160-175. She is a HAWG. Then gentleman who caught her had no desire to have a world record. He couldnt even lift the cat in the boat, called his wife and she met him at the ramp and took the pics, so the HAWG is still out there somewhere. Thats what i love about catfishing for big cats, the next bite could be one like that. Now dont get me wrong I love bass fishing and crappie fishing, and i read this board everyday, super great folks on here. But you green/brown fish guys have us outnumbered <grin>. The world record cat weighed at 646 pounds------

World record Blue is 124. That one is every bit of that!

Yep blue cat 124 is correct--So THE guy should had that thing recorded it looked like it would go 200 lb--Big old fish for sure--:)
