Hard to Make this stuff up...........
WASHINGTON -- A Republican congressman from Georgia said Monday he fears that President-elect Obama will establish a Gestapo-like security force to impose a Marxist or fascist dictatorship.
"It may sound a bit crazy and off base, but the thing is, he's the one who proposed this national security force," Rep. Paul Broun said of Obama in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "I'm just trying to bring attention to the fact that we may -- may not, I hope not -- but we may have a problem with that type of philosophy of radical socialism or Marxism."
Broun cited a July speech by Obama that has circulated on the Internet in which the then-Democratic presidential candidate called for a civilian force to take some of the national security burden off the military.

"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did," Broun said. "When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."
Obama's comments about a national security force came during a speech in Colorado about building a new civil service corps. Among other things, he called for expanding the nation's foreign service and doubling the size of the Peace Corps "to renew our diplomacy."
"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set," Obama said in July. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Broun said he also believes Obama likely will move to ban gun ownership if he does build a national police force.
Obama has said he respects the Second Amendment right to bear arms and favors "common sense" gun laws. Gun rights advocates interpret that as meaning he'll at least enact curbs on ownership of assault weapons and concealed weapons. As an Illinois state lawmaker, Obama supported a ban on semiautomatic weapons and tighter restrictions on firearms generally.
"We can't be lulled into complacency," Broun said. "You have to remember that Adolf Hitler was elected in a democratic Germany. I'm not comparing him to Adolf Hitler. What I'm saying is there is the potential."
Obama's transition office did not respond immediately to Broun's remarks.

Are you really still posting this nonsense??? The election was over last week. I have never heard so much belly-aching, and whining in all my life. I swear had McCain won, and Me or PL pulled this garbage - you would be spearheading the lynch mob to do away with people that hate America by not supporting the soon to be president.

Re: Hard to Make this stuff up...........
Geo,
Let's give him some time....he seems more like a follower with a "Purty Mouth". He reminds me of Steve Urkle, Alfred Sharpton, Jr. and Louis Farrakan rolled into one. Why couldn't we get a General Colin Powell or maybe a Jonas Blane (Dennis Haysbert "The Unit") type character in there.
Again, let's give him some time and see how he reacts to being shot at or any other type of pressure. I don't see consumer confidence changing overnight so let's just see how things progress. The Bible teaches us that our wisdom is but foolishness when compared to that of Christ 1 Cor 25. Obama was ultimately granted his position by our creator so let's give him our support and not be worrying about this until it is a serious proposal.

OK........I can wait.............
BUT when he starts putting all his ideas on paper, don't be suprised if it is not called the OBomunist Manifesto............and if it is......he should change the name of his autobiography to Mein Shizzle.

Oh come on, you guys would be doing the same thing. You seem to forget it wasn't the man (well maybe a little:p) but it was his policies and politics. Noone gets a free ride in the gubment...wait wait did I just say that? Wow! Now I know how you Libs deal with this stuff it's called denial!
Just enjoy the next 4 years I know I will, a super Lib in the Whitehouse is not going to ruin my life and it will be interesting to watch. Interesting indeed.

I at least gave Bush 4 years before I openly criticized him - I at least gave him a chance to succeed - or not in his case.
If Obama is as disappointing as Bush - I will be on here with you griping. I fully support him now, but that does not mean I will think the same in 5 or 6 years. Hopefully, for the sake of our country, he will do a great job. He has a long road ahead of him - just as any president would now, but the lack of support just makes that road a little more bumpy and slower going.

Mein Shizzle...That's funny right there Geo, I don't care who ya are. LMAO
(Funny until it's true, of course.)
Re: Hard to Make this stuff up...........
It's all fun and games until you have decide who's gonna die. Should I risk political suicide, thousands of sons and daughters; moms and dads or can we live with dictators that fund terrorists and commit mass chemical warfare genocide. Will there be a blame game or will someone own it.
I can't understand people who think violence first, but I do understand first hand how it could get to that point.
I hope that he's ready to lead and not just follow as he has in the past. The socialist ideas and policies will fail as they have in the past. Love, peace and chicken grease my brothas.

Kind of like the crap that Bush got after 8 years of smear campains by the Repubs on Clinton? So where does this BS stop, when we finally become completely divided as a nation. Seriously, Obama isn't even in the white house yet and some of you are already calling him a failure.

Col,
What kind of support does he need other than from Congress and his group of obamamaniacs? He will have absolute power right? What's the big deal?
I guess I don't see that our (millions of people who did not vote for him) comments can harm his agenda. Not one President or President Elect had 100% support so why is he different? I say he isn't. Heck the guy basically ran his campaign in Europe and has alot of their support as well. What else does he need? Just asking??
Everyone on here wants things to be better but we also haven't jumped on the Barry band wagon. If he does turn things around when he takes office I'll admit I was wrong about the guy but only then.:)
