60 Minutes and Barry
Hey finally I agree with one of his ideas! A college football playoff instead of this goofy BCS junk. He said he will throw his weight around a little on that topic.
Actually his interview was very laid back and both Michelle and he were very down to earth. I don't agree with him on the GM bailout but heck who really knows? I say let them fail, flush out the crooks and lets see what rises to the top. I'm afraid the UAW and political power brokers in that industry will get what they want and thats too bad. Let them fail just like the airlines have in the past.
Anyway, the President elect and his wife impressed me with their ideas on family and the respect they seem to have for the Whitehouse and the power that it holds. Michelle is one strong lady and Barry insures she is heard when she speaks....maybe he is a smart guy?:) He knows mama better be happy!!
I respect the way they spoke of their girls and their family so yeah I guess I'm warming up to the idea that he is human.:p He did say that he will appoint a GOP member to his cabinet but never said who or where. I wish them the best for it impacts us all.

Couldn't make myself watch it. I'm just not ready yet. I can actually stomach him better than I can her.

Man, I know what you mean but I was buzzing on a few Crown and Cokes and had taken a muscle relaxer for my back so I had dumbed myself down to the Dems level! I just sat there and became a Dem drone.:):p Just kidding fellas and ladies! Have a good week!

Re: 60 Minutes and Barry
I thought it was a good interview as well. It is refreshing to see a "real" family coming to the whitehouse. I don't mean that in a negative way agains the others. But since I have been around, it has been older presidents with grown children, or career politicians.

I agree, it's a new time for the country and putting all my political beliefs aside it will be interesting to watch them (kids and mom) adjust to the new found star power they will have.
I really hope that the new first family takes the opportunity to boost the black community's attitude from being where it has been to a feeling of look what can be achieved with hard work. The entitlement attitude has got to go. Michelle will be key in that turn around...Barry has done his part.
I say this because Jesse Jackson and the other group of so called black leaders have fueled the racism fire since that's how they made their living. I think the black community would be better off to never hear from him again.

Re: 60 Minutes and Barry
It's really going to be hard for the Next President to control his life and those around him. The blacks will be looking for him to give precedence to them now that one of their own has got the ( Top Job ). If Obama doesn't appease them, then they'll turn on him quicker than water....
Mechelle Obama is another person whom I don't have a clue as to how she'll react to all the new fame....
Hanna Montana has now requested / invited the Obama daughter's to be a part of her TV show.....Billy Ray is a big Democrat supporter you know.....Wouldn't think he'd involve his daughter in Politicking this early.
When did the Bush Twins ever get invited to be on a TV show during the 8 years as the Official First Kids.....

Re: 60 Minutes and Barry
And the indoctrination of the people continues. I cant spell kumbaiya but I ain't ready to dance around the bon fire singing it yet.
Yes, a real "feel good" 60 minutes. No hard questions as to "Michelle, are you now proud to be an American?"
I hear the preacher but I'm just not ready to join the choir.

Now hold on! Don't count me in just yet.:) The guy is very likeable and the interview was a foo foo interview at best and it was kinda cute with them holding hands and all.:o I mean if the guy can get College football playoffs going I'm all for it. Not sure how the bowls will work into it but something has got to change from this BCS junk.
I just hope he does some of what he promised because we all will be living through it. Hey, he won so I wish him the best I really do. Sure when the election was lost by the GOP it pissed me off (I'm registered Indy) but I'm OK now and thinking with a clear head. It wasn't that McCain lost...it was that he won, know what I mean? Look at it from a Conservative view wouldn't that make you shutter in disbelief that this has happened? Notice I said Conservative and not GOP. I really think the GOP lost their way and left alot of their core beliefs behind and the country as a whole is tired of it. Now it's the Dems chance lets see what they can do I hope they remember the country and world is watching or they will pay the same price.
I just don't see how his vision of this countries problems and his solutions will work but if I'm wrong I will be the first to say it and I'll enjoy the benefits. But if he is wrong and pulls the typical politician tap dance I'll be peesed off. See we can agree on a few things.:D
