Leaving out in the morning to head to Guntersville for a few days. Anyone been down this year so far? Looking forward to cranking and winding and maybe a shot at a big girl moving up to eat. If we do any good I'll post some pics when we get back. Hope the weather gives us a day or two at least.
I just got off the phone with a friend from there.........The trap bite is somewhat slow right now with the jig bite is really picking up. The cold snap has slowed the trap bite......Good luck with your trip , might see ya there........................
I'll be there friday and Saturday to fish a BFL (co-angler). I want to learn a little more about the lake because I've only been there once before in the fall of the year.
Heading down myself on Wednesday evening. Prefishing Thrusday and Friday for the BFL on Saturday. Going to give them Alabama boys some of my money....I'm tired of the Devere's taking all of it! LOL! But, if Shannon's down there he'll probably win it! LOL.

Those boys are fish vacuums, they own Cumberland, the best on the lake bar none.
Bill, how many boats do you expect will be in this one? We're wanting to fish up north if we can.

The first tournament of the year in the Choo Choo Division is usually a full field of 200 boats it will be no less than 175.

Thanks Mark! It worked out pretty well. I got "blind hog lucky" and finished third with big bass at 10 lb 8 oz! Do you believe that?!

Congrats Bill on the tournament and that monster fish. We had a good trip as well. Got down there around noon on Wed. and then got rained out half a day on Friday. Had three full days catching 67 bass with 32 keepers. Two big fish for the trip was 5.82 and a 6.04. Yesterday was our best day catching 27 with 13 keepers. 9 of the 13 were over 3lbs with three of those being over 4. Great way to start out the 09 season.
