Lunardi's current number seeds
As of right now and alot can happen between now and Sunday, Lunardi has the number One seeds as follows.
1. North Carolina
2. Pittsburgh
3. UConn
4. Louisville
That's right Mills three out of the four number one seeds may very well be BIG EAST BABY!!!
Re: Lunardi's current number seeds
I don't see it happening. IMHO
Louisville has to win the tourney to get their #1 seed and it could very well happen but if they do I think it will cost Uconn or Pittt theirs and if Louisville loses it cost them their #1 seed.
And while I agree the Big East is as tough as it has ever been it is only the 3rd ranked conference in the Pomeroy rankings, which combines the conferences teams rankings from top to bottom to get their totals.

As of right now, at 4:07 p.m. EST who would be your four number one seeds and why?

Right now Memphis could replace Louisville, Uconn or Pitt and I would have no problem with it. Also If the Big East did get three #1 seeds I would have no problem with that.
I know your going to knock Memphis and say their conference stinks but I hate it when people get caught up in the "tough conference hoopla". If your good, your good I don't care what conference you play in and Memphis is good.
As of right now the only one I'm sure is a #1 seed is:
UNC - Getting it done today without Lawson and have been banged up all year and still on top.
But if you want the rest here you go:
Uconn - Smacked Louisville around at their place. Tough, gritty all year. If the hadn't lost Dyson they would be a sure fire #1 seed with UNC.
Memphis - 23 game winning streak and counting, enough said
Pitt - Again tough, gritty all year. Providence loss really the only bad loss all season.
Sorry Louisvill fans but if you don't win your tourney, I don't see you getting a #1 seed just because you played the weaker Big East schedule but if you do you move Pitt to a #2 since you beat them.
Re: Lunardi's current number seeds
If I'm Louisville I want to be the top 2 seed and Memphis to be the 4th 1 seed that way they'd be in the same bracket. Or Louisville be the weakest 1 seed and Michigan St. the strongest 2 seed. In my opinion both Memphis and Michigan State will be high seeds that have a good chance of getting knocked out early. If Louisville gets to the final but doesn't win the Big East tourney then I'd say UofL, Pitt, and UCONN would be interchangeable. UofL wins Big East conference = number one seed. Pretty confident about North Carolina as a 1 too.
It doesn't really matter it's not going to be cupcake city to win it all.
Re: Lunardi's current number seeds
I can buy alot of the logic here except Memphis. Sorry guys their strenghth of schedule is horrible, and the out of conference they got beat up some. Memphis no way a number one seed.

Did you just see Lunardi chatting with the studio guys after the game? Seems he has changed his mind now and said Memphis was a #1 seed and it was between Louisville and Uconn for the final #1 seed.
Don't be so quick to dismiss Memphis. They play the best D in the country and now that Tyreke Evans (freshman) is more in sync with things they are a handful.
I still think Louisville will win the Big East tourney and get a #1 seed and it's anyones guess who they move out between Uconn, Pitt or Memphis.
Oh yeah, I would like to punch Gottelieb in the mouth, talking about Duke being a #1 seed if they win the ACC tourney. Their not even in the same league as the teams we've been talking about.
Re: Lunardi's current number seeds
Well here goes...
UNC # 1 Top Dog all year
Memphis # 1 Great Tournament Team and yes they r still in the Conference U of L came from and continue to rule that conference.
UCONN # 1 2nd best team in the Country, spanked U of L by 32 at U of L and to me nothing takes away from that win. Yes they stumbled a bit towards the end of the season and fell after 6 OT's in Conference Tournament. But they will rebound.
Oklahoma #1 Seems to be the Best team from the Big 12 and stumbled in the Conference Tournament, which could be a good thing to lose early. So that they are more focused for the Really Big Dance...Cause it's a one loss and your done situation.....
Sorry U of L fans and non U of L fans...But Talk about getting beat by teams outside of Conference Play and U of L had 3 loss's. They did get the magic draw and get the weakest schedule to play in the Conference during the regular season. Plus now that UCONN and PITT both stumbled during the Conference Tournament. Looks like it's going to be a cupcake walk to the Conference Championship. Again weak teams to play against and still not really being challenged prior to the big dance.
This is just how I see the way things are shaping up and have gone during the season.....
Best chance scenario for U of L, they wind up as a # 2 and get put in the same bracket as either Memphis or Okla. If they get a # 1 seed then they will surely get put in a braket with the strongest # 2 seed. Because U of L would be the weakest of the # 1 seeds and that weakest # 1 seed always gets the Toughest # 2 seed in the same bracket.
Not being tough on U of L just stating the way I see things playing out....
Good Luck to everyone's teams who might have a team playing in the Big Dance. I got to wait a couple more years before the Hoosier's retain their once Elite Status again...But it's coming and believe me their name will once again be feared by all who have them on their schedule.......
Good Luck all......

Okay Mills, let's start from the top. Memphis rules the Conference USA NOW, but when the good teams where there they didn't come close to ruling the conference. Louisville, Marquette and Cincy were the big dogs of C-USA. Memphis never won the conference regualr season title, nor did they ever win the tournament title UNITL AFTER UL, UC AND MARQUETTE LEFT FOR THE BIG EAST! They have a terrible rpi, they have beaten NOBODY and they lost to some very mediocre teams. No way they should be a number one seed over Pitt, UL or UCONN.
Oklahoma, are you taking your medication correctly? Not only did they lose in the tourney, but at the end of the season they lost 3 or 4 games in a row.
There no weak schedules in the Big East and take a look at all of the ranked teams the Cards defeated this year.
This is why I love talking sports with you Clyde, you make me feel more intelligent lol!
Re: Lunardi's current number seeds
Tim you forgot to straighten him out on one more. UCONN DID NOT BEAT LOUISVILLE BY 32, LOL. I think it was about 15 or so a far cry from 32, lol. Mills do you have MadCow disease or maybe Alzheimers, because you have serious memory issues.
Oh and one more thing your basketball knowledge is almost laughable....
Oklahoma, BaHa Wa, Lol

Tooner you and I found something we agree on brother. I would love to go a few rounds with Gottleib, what an absolute tool. He knows just a little bit more about college basketball then Mills, lol. Memphis is a tough team and they are very dangerous, I'll give you that, I still just don't feel they are a 1 seed. I'd go a 2 seed but not a 1, is this time of year fun or what?
