completely ashamed
To be a cards fan right now. I almost knew it before the game even started. No pat on the back from me for making to the elite 8. For the next few days I will be hating my team. As a cards fan I should have known the better ya think we are getting the worse it gets as asual. Highly upset at the moment and the poorest performance I've seen out of them in a while

Re: completely ashamed
Ah, no need to be ashamed...you guys made the Elite 8, you have a great coach, and were in contention right down to this last game...Izzo had his team prepped and psyched to win, and it worked. I'm not a Card fan or anything, but it could be much worse...
For instance, you could be sitting at home, after a loss in the NIT, coach-less, and wondering what in the hell happened...

Re: completely ashamed
We played like we did not care. Like it was just another game no fire no grit. Maybe MSU was that good. I think Pitino was out coached.

Re: completely ashamed
A quote of mine from an earlier post.......
"Michigan State is a bruising type team but offensively I think a fishin.com team could put up more points. Louisville would have to have a really off night shooting to lose to them."
Every shot was contested, they were just settling for jumpshots - and not hitting them.
Just an off night, and a good day for the spartans - they're liable to get smoked in the next game by UCONN.

Re: completely ashamed
They played scared, which is what bothers me more than anything.

Re: completely ashamed
It was a long ride back from Indy.

exactly what i thought. they got out played and it diisapoints me to no end. they should not have lost that game. they didnt ever get set up to play their style of ball. michigan state took them out of there element completely.

Re: completely ashamed
it wasn't the coaches it was we gt out played, it wasn't that izzo had them prepared any better. It came down to exactly what i said it would when their season would end. I told my friends that L-Ville is good but the game they come out after half time and don't get hot on the 3's like they always do will be the season ender for them. ..Thats exactly what happened - we got out shot!!! MSU shot 50% behind the arch . . 50% FREAKIN PERCENT!!!! I don't care how hyped or prepaired you are . . . when you aren't hitting, you have a starting frosh that scored 0 points and the other team is shooting the lights out . . . .you got no chance! that in turn kills your momentum and it just snow balls. I'm proud of my cards but sad they didn't make it!

Re: completely ashamed
Well I said it before and I'll say it again, I am proud of this team and what they have accomplished this year. Look at all the good this year fellas.
Big East regular season champs
Big East tournament champs
First overall number One seed in school history
Back to back Elite Eight years
A 30 plus win season with only 6 defeats
A top ten recruiting class coming in next year
Now with all that being said, yes I'm disappointed to. You can't win with your team leader and second leading scorer laying a big fat egg on the court. Terrence Williams never got off the bus mentally yesterday.
Samardo Samuels is the biggest waste of human flesh I've seen in the five spot in a long long time. If I was Pitino I would have that guy shooting five hundred layups a day until he can actually make a freaking shot a point blank range.
And yes there was too much happy party time and not enough gut it out and grit time. They got waaaaaaaaaaaay to happy with themselves Friday night and they flat thought MSU was gonna just roll over and let them walse their way to the four.....NOT!
Pitino is a great coach but he flat got taken to class yesterday. Izzo's game plan and player preparation was twice what Ricky brought to the table.
Louisville Cardinals under Rick Pitino, always a brides maid NEVER a bride, I guess I just need to get used to it!

Re: completely ashamed
There was about 10 of us watching it and noone was a card fan but we all felt bad for the team. They had done so well and then this. They got out played and even looked tired at times.

I hope Pitino is making EVERY LAST one of them still RUN for the antics played against Arizona on a National Level.
The CARDS acted like an undiciplined bunch of FOOLS...........and I'm glad Michigan State handed them their BUTTS on a platter.
Give me a BREAK.
* Sosa acting like an IDIOT.........
* SLAMMING the ball home in the last few seconds even after a BLOWOUT was guaranteed.....
* Running up the SCORE on a clearly outmatched opponent......
GLAD you guys got your butt kicked. SHOW SOME CLASS next time.
You didn't see Michigan State acting that way when they CLEARLY dominated you guys.
Sorry, but that is how I feel.
Later,
Geo
