2.50 per gallon WHY?
Somebody tell me why gas has shot up to 2.50 a gallon, why why why?
Here's my theory. This idiot, moronic, new adminstration is wanting to impose MORE TAXES on fuels.
Democratic answer to everything= Tax and Spend...Tax and Spend and hey if that doesn't work we could always Tax and Spend.
I'll be on food stamps by the time we get this fricking Goober out of office.
Oh and spare me the Bush did it all speech, it's getting alot worse in his excellency's first 100 days anybody that doesn't think so has their head in the sand.
I can't even stand stomaching looking at that human.
I had to rant this morning this country is totally in the crapper and we have an idiot at the helm!

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
I knew it would go up some for Summer but we are getting hosed again.
My thought is that we as americans have short memories and OPEC knows that so they cut back production in order to raise the prices. Plus the dollar is weak compared to other currencies so the two combined have us footing the bill again.
Sure gets old huh....

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
Simple answer: Because we will pay it.
When it was at $4 the consumption rate didn't go down very much and they made record profits. If it were my company and I was selling anything other than gas/oil, people would tell me I was stupid for selling it for less than that like they have been for awhile now.
If we get tired of being jacked around (and I actually believe it is well within the oil companies' rights to charge us whatever they want to), maybe we'll come up with alternatives.

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
I was kind of expecting gas to go up just from more people driving more in the summer and the economy improving a little but i think its crazy that it jumps so quickly. I think this is mostly the middle east trying to keep prices as high as they can possibly be

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
Did OPEC cut production, the last I heard they were keeping it the same d/t the economy. Sounds like our gas companies sticking it too us

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
It went up because I headed to Ky lake this weekend.
BO's experts said that gas would not go up more than $2.35 a gallon. Well they made a mistake where is that all over the news?
I also heard that the banks are buying up all the oil stocks which is driving up the price. We have to bail them out and now we have to pay more for gas? This is crazy.

NO.......OPEC didn't production.......and NO......gas companies are not trying to SCREW us.....
First....there was a MFT increase in KY.......YES brashear passed it. 3% I think.
Second.......there is a 15 CENT surcharge on the reformulated CRAP we're forced to use in KY.
Third......some GAS stations actually would like to make MORE than 7 cents a gallon......
Remember boys and girls.....Amost every other item in our economy has a 20% - 30% markup.....AT 20% that gas station should be making 40 cents a gallon.....
REPEAL the TAX and stop making us burn the reformulated ********.....that is a 25 cent IMMEDIATE decrease.....
BTW......if the gasoline business was so profitable.....WHY are people not building gas stations by the millions.....BECAUSE there's no PROFIT in it. Hell, I'd put one in my back yard, if I could make money on it......

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
The answer is very simple> They raised the price cause they CAN. The rich oil barons from the middle east need to finish there huge lager than need building in Dubi so wealthy American oil barons and capiltist pigs can hide there profits there and have a nice vacition. The oil is controled by the MIDDLE EAST and there cronies here. ANother answer is Again plain ole GREED.

Sorry - but those taxes didn't all just go into effect in the last 2 weeks to make gas rise $.35-$.50 per gallon.

Re: 2.50 per gallon WHY?
School years are ending + nicer weather + more people traveling = increase in prices
The oil companies are very smart about when/how they do this stuff. Happens every year and we still fall for it.
