Tropical system
I don't believe in Global Warming but I do believe weather goes in weird 40, 60, hundred year type cycles. Do you boys ever remember a July this cool? Heck I was out in it some today and actually had to put a dang jacket on, and I get hot easy. We have had rain without a break here all day, the gauge as I type this is approaching 1.8 inches and climbing.
This system reminds me of one of those tropical deals that roll up here off of the coast and just dump. We have had it blowing sideways to with a stiff East wind now for the last several hours. Just seems really weird to me this year, this weather is whacked. I wonder what all this cold rain and hard East wind will do to the fishing, I hate an East wind, especially a cold one.

Re: Tropical system
The weatherman on Wave last night said this will be the first time since they started recording weather in Louisville back ing 18-someything that we have not had any 90 degree days. And none are predicted thru the end of the month.
Yes, I agree with cyclical weather patterns and "Global Warming" is one of them, it always happens at the beginning of an Ice Age which we are at the start of one. In another few hundred years or so both coasts will be under water. Gawd, that mean Pelosi will have to move to Kentucky.

Re: Tropical system
Mark that wind here in Shepherdsville has been whipping out of the east all day. Bizzare weather patterns for sure. This could put a damper on my fly fishing at Trammell Fork on Friday. I guess I need to see what it is doing in the Bowling Green area.

Good luck Tim, I don't think they got as much as we did around here. It seemed to move through that area alittle quicker, it's been camped on us all day and half of last night. Gauge here at home is approaching an inch and half now as well as the one I had at work.
Hey Grump if Nancy Pelosi moves to Kentucky I'm moving out, lol.

72 degrees with a light mist and 14 mph winds out of the south in BG right now. Also got just a little over 1 inch of rain out of the system.

Updated
A nice little shower just came through and dumped about another 1/4 inch of rain.

Re: Tropical system
On a positive note I haven't had to water anything around the house at all this year, everything is growing nice and green and lush.
On the down side, at least for me anyway, I think this cool weather has slowed my tomatoes from ripening...then again I don't think I set them out on Derby day either, I may have been a week or so later.

I'm breaking out the Float and Fly gear early this year.........I suspect they will be schooled up on Old Car or Skull Bluff in a week or so :) :) By november, I might have to get out an ice auger to fish dale.
