Re: Really Upset With Cedar
follow up on this post. i ran down there late afternoon. fished from about 3:30 - 5:30 or so. picked up 3 small ones. water temps like what you said, 58ish. lots of boats, but that late in the day, most are pulling out. water was a bit murky as stated. only had time to fish one area.
been tough lately for sure from what i hear and the pressure is something else. line up all the boats end to end and you could probably circle that lake 5 times. lol.
can't wait til the cold water gets here. come on december, jan, feb.
rustedhook, i hollered at you, but you weren't around. catch you next time.
:)
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
He's not lying..... fished all around didn't get a thing. past couple times I've been there I haven't caught anything either..... maybe when it gets cold I can catch some fish
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
i went down there for the first time in a few years and we started fishing about 10 or so and from what it looked like to me the lake is starting to turn over down at the dam the water as blackish when we got there and it seemed to get darker as the day wore on.... we left there and went up the lake and ended up with a 6 on the day a 4lber adn a 3 lber and the rest were dinks.... we fished slow.... and the bite was really subtle too....
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
jonboat...I'll have to take you and show how to fish I guess...you saw the 6lber I took out and the others weren't all that small that I pulled out the rest of the day either. Fish slow and the bite is soft. Be patient and use the right color worm.
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
What would the solution be about Cedar being overfished johnboat?
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
Fished it Sunday from 7-12. I thought the lake was turning over as well. Dark lookin around dam, murky in upper 1/2 of lake. Caught one fish on rattletrap just after you go under the bridge off the riprap. That was the only bite all morning. threw buzzbait, spook, spinnerbait, rattletrap, fluke, jig, and 7in powerworm. Never saw one fish blow up on shad and saw only couple shad move in the very back of the creek past the bridge.

Well i guess your just to good for me... haha anyway we should go together sometime and fish.

"I have come to the conclusion that cedar is over fished."
YA THINK?!
Its sad that we're that hard up for a decent place to bass fish in our part of the state.
If the state had any sense there would be one in every county, if they could make others as cheaply as they made cc.

I can fish on the even number days out of the month and everybody else can fish the odd days. Except for holidays and every Saturday...those are mine too. That should do it.
Re: Really Upset With Cedar
I haven't been down there in over a year, due to all of the dumbass' that run up and down the lake, cutting you off, running wide open fifty or sixty feet away from you. Don't think I'll ever go back.
