New Year's Eve
So what are you folks doing tonight ? We will be at the casino boat in Metropolis SHOUTING in the New Year with Otis Day and the Bus Boys (formerly Otis Day and the Knights) from Animal House....if you don't know who these guys are, you are just too young to appreciate good music...LOL.

Re: New Year's Eve
Just staying at home cooking a nice dinner and watching a movie and/or whatever is on TV.
We keep it low key on New Year's. Unless we go somewhere to spend the night where we don't have to drive home, we stay in. No point in being on the roads tonight.

Re: New Year's Eve
You can bet we have rooms at the hotel..won't be any driving tonight.

Re: New Year's Eve
Yep know who you are talking about. The wife and I are going to a party we have been invited to and we really won't know tht many people there at all. Gonna be kinda weird not being around my regular crowd as we usually ring it in together. Oh well something different I guess. I'll only have a few and drive us home as this is usually the wife's job but tonight I'll let her kick up her heels and I'll be the DD. If for some weird reason that fails it's fairly close to my home and her Mom has agreed to come get us if need be, but trust me when I say I'll try to avoid that like the Plague, lol.
Ring it up Dave you guys have fun. Happy New Year to everybody here on fishin.com.

Re: New Year's Eve
My Japanese wife will be fixing Udon (long noodles for long life), Tuna Shashimi and some side dishes for dinner. I will probably go to bed about my normal time at 9 PM. Tomorrow for breakfast, she will fix "Seven Vegatable Ozoni and Mochii (Japanese soup and Ricecakes)" which is supposed to bring good health and happiness for the year. For dinner, she will fix Sukiyaki and Giyoza just because they are good to eat. Except for the year I was in Viet Nam, we have followed this ritual every year since 1970 and, thankfully, we are both happy and healthy (with a few minor aches and pains).
Happy New Year to all,
Grumpy

Re: New Year's Eve
The wife and I may go to dinner and movie with another couple from down the street (to see Avatar??)...or we might walk across the street to the neighbors house and drink a few.
I vote for walking across the street but would be equally as happy staying home and watching the tube. Think I'll let the wife decide this one.

I remember partying in four New Year's Eves in Japan back in the early 70's....but the last thing I wanted to look at on New Year's Day was food...LOL. Since I am still happy and healthy I guess that Kirin beer and Saki also has some redeeming or should I say preservative qualities to it also....LOL
