Thanks for helping out Don....as for the Lab...he was probably about 9 or 10 in that picture...he's 14 now, half/nearly blind, doesn't "appear" to hear as well as he used to...either that or he's heard it all before and could care less now, and his tail doesn't wag as much as it used to either...but he still has a pretty decent nose and still stays next to me like a dag gone magnet.
Fine specimens. I just wished they lived longer fellas. It tears me up bad when they leave.
Why in the world do theu age 7 years to our one? Hell all they do is eat, sleep and crap. Occassionally run and chase stuff and play a little. Then back to sleeping, eating and crapping, especially sleeping, lol. They get more rest than any creature alive, I just don't understand.

Maybe sleeping is not all that great I know sleeping will give you a hang over. I have came home late many times feeling great go to sleep and bam wake up with a hang over.
Mark you are right. They leave us way to early. My other lab Ben lived to be 14years old.... we had become so connected that everyone who saw me without him always asked where he was. It was amazing just a look or a point with a command and he would do what I intended....Of course when I had to put him down all I heard for the next week or so was where is Ben? That was so hard....
I had to put down my Beagle on Christmas eve. She was 17 years old. I remember the day I brought her home in my pocket. I have a new pup to replace her. Here's a pic I took of the new pup and his big brother Max. Dogs are like family.
Dang Tom that there is an awesome pic. The puppy...well what can you say about a puppy that hasn't already been said? Good looking buddies you got there!
Christmas Eve? That really makes it tough. Had to put Ben down on my birthday 4 years ago. But the way I see it now is we gave him the best life he could have had and loved him like a child....we did right by him.
Those are some really fine looking dogs fellers. I agree they should live longer. I have had my share of experience losing best friends. We lost one of them a few years back. He is my current pups daddy. He was my wifes pride and joy. Unfortunately, One day he snuck out the front door and went straight to his favorite crap depository which was located across the road. We never took him to the neighbors front yard but if he got loose they could count on him making a deposit. Can't blame him, I didn't much care for em either.
Well my wife goes after him and I am inside and hear a blood curdling scream. I thought one of my kids just got killed. I run outside and find my wife hysterical and our pal in the road. Apparently he saw my wife and as normal he came a running nonstop. The fire departments tanker truck was coming down the road and hit him right in front of my wife. It was awful. I still don't think she has recovered. It is like losing a family member.
Tom that's a fine looking picture of two fine looking dog's...Heck man, you should have it framed and hanging on the wall somewhere...that a really nice picture for sure! Sorry to hear about you having to do the deal on Christmas Eve though.

Thanks Guys! I took that picture on new year day. I was going through the camersa looking at the pictures of New years eve and saw the dogs sitting there watching me and took their picture. Thank the Lord for dogs!
