Re: navionics dvd
I bought it and do like it. The features are very cool...the 3d is a little overrated...but haven't checked it out on any of the High Def maps. You can zoom in and print large views of small areas. Definitely not a waste of $20. If you are looking for a specific lake...post it and I'll let you know if the DVD has it.

thanks, I was going to buy it anyway. that just makes it sweeter.
ps. I may be wrong, but i think i remember seeing. where you posted that you fish patoka lake sorry i can't spell the lake. it's in southern in. if you fish it? does it still have northern pike. the last time i fished it was in the early 80's and we caught several pike. 7 or 8 if i remember correct. they should be some nice ones in it now. I may give it another try.:):)

Re: navionics dvd
I just recently started fishing Patoka, so I wouldn't be the one to ask. I do know that the smallmouth population is doing fairly well. A guy last year won a tournament with a stringer of smallies that weighed almost 17 lbs.!!!!

Re: navionics dvd
There was a discussion about this a few weeks back ,so I bought 1 found it very helpful . More detail than the regular paper maps on the lakes I looked at . The website did'nt say the lakes around central Ky I fish were on it but they indeed are . As for the 3D ,have'nt looked into that yet an dont know if they are available or not . Upon purchase with mine I get 1 free 3D download an I guess you have to purchase the rest . For $20.00 I beleive it's well worth it.

Hope you don't mind me answering this. There are still a few (Very few) northerns in Patoka. Aparently they didn't reproduce well. To bad because we had lots of fun catching them. They sure could help with the shad problem.

don't mind at all, thanks. it's a beautiful lake, was thinking about the northern pike and was thinking of trying them again. spend most of my fishing time on cumberland, dale, and laurel lakes. but thinking of fishing some new places this year. :):)
