That does not surprise me at all. I do see the great risk here...if we get attacked again and he has taken these "clerical corrections" to sooth the feeling of nations that breed terrorists and or have links to them then he has shot himself in the foot again.
Of course he tactic is blaming Bush for everything. One day he will stand alone and be responsible for his actions....

I see this more as a change in rhetoric than in practice. We're still going to chase terrorists, but when we talk to Muslim nations, that's not necessarily going to dominate the conversation. And that may be okay for some countries, but I think it's wrong to lighten up on regimes like Iran and Saudi Arabia, where the ruling elite support and fund terrorism. I think it's okay to let Muslims know that we know that they're not all terrorists. What sticks in my craw is the way it seems to me we go into some of these Middle East countries and say, "We won't talk to you because you support terrorism. Oh and by the way, here's a jillion dollars for your oil, spend it any way you want." We should just cut all ties, and be done with them. Yeah, I know, easier said than done...
But calm down, guys. This isn't the end of the world.
