What brand Jigs do you guys use?
I am just getting into Jigging. I know my two main colors should be Black/Blue and some kind of brown color, i am partial to green pumpkin as i have had good luck with that color texas rigged...
My question is which brand makes the most durable jig with the most life like skirt?
Right now I am throwing a Jewel Ekins jig with ekins trailer and have caught some fish on it, and it seems good... do you guys like Jewel or are their better brands i should consider?
Re: What brand Jigs do you guys use?
You cant beat a cumberland craw color. I enjoy throwing strike king jigs but mainly B&L lures, they make a fantastic jig that is durable and will gurantee fish. Just go with like you said a black and blue, green pumpkin, and also throw craw colors like tennessee craw and cumberland craw. Just pitch jigs into cover and drag out slowly and it should produce fish.

BPS makes an Enticer Football Head jig. I caught a 6 lb 15 oz. LM during a tourney down in Texas on it. Then I went to Lake Guntersville this year during the Big Bass Splash and caught a 6.57 LM on it. It's a good jig and it's super cheap compared to the others out there.. The skirt on it slides down pretty easily, which isn't a good thing, but it produces.. I have caught plenty of bass up here on it as well.
Also, don't be afraid to make your own.. I can tell you that is the cheapest way to go. And though it takes a while to make your own, the reward is even greater when you do well with it. I finished 2nd on Nolin in a 30+ boat tournament 2 years ago and the only thing I threw was my jig.
Colors: Black/Blue, Green Pumpkin, and PB&J..

Re: What brand Jigs do you guys use?
what size jigs u guys use? I know 1/4oz is good in clod water and when finesse fishing... and when they are active a big 3/4 is good for flippin cover... but when simply dragging a rock bank, is 3/8 the go to size??? could 3/8 be the go to size for any situation other than finesse tactics???
Re: What brand Jigs do you guys use?
+1 on Legal Limit, Jeff is top notch. Also check out slongsfishinglures.com . Sean makes a great jig and has multiple color, weight, and head combinations. Check out the Crystal Craw color... wink, wink.

Re: What brand Jigs do you guys use?
Make your own. I buy a lot of "jig making stuff" from www.staminainc.com, www.livingrubber.com and www.tacklewarehouse.com. Buy the components and make your own color patters. It's a lot of fun and cheaper than buying off the shelf most of the time.
