Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
It rose even quicker than what you suggested. In the last 24 hours the lake went from 684 to 693!
I guess this is going to mess up the Striper night bite like it did last year.
Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
Checked on Dix River a.k.a. Herrington Lake an it said it came up around 30 ft. in a 24 hour period ! Thats as fast as I've ever heard of it riseing ..

Yep, for three years running now, Mother Nature has taken a big crap on the striper night bite for May. It will take a long time for this one to receed.
Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
Boys this is going to get alot worse and scary to. The Corp can't let much water go because of the situations in Burkesville and especially Nashville. The Cumberland river is expected to crest at slightly over 10 FEET above flood stage, WOW. The lake is rising at around an average of 5 INCHES AN HOUR, and isn't expected to slow anytime soon.
Some are predicting that the lake will exceed normal summer pool of 723. With the dam issues the Corp is sweating some serious bullets right now.
Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
How can I watch the lake levels daily? Was planing on going down Friday night. Any help please.

This is a better link to use. It has the graph but it also have a text box with historical data and the breakdown of how much water is being let out.

Do you guys think there is any chance of being able to fish Friday and Saturday?
Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
I was at the cumberland falls yesterday, and the river was wild and muddy. I took a photo, and tried to post it on the photo board. but can't get it to work. any way while looking at all the muddy water going over the falls, I thought lake cumberland will be, one big mudhole.:)
Re: Cumberland The Big Rise
The good news is...that it will fall, just as fast as it rised...yes?
But Im sure they are sweeting it at the dam!!!......It would seem, that even with the problems down south a ways...that getting the water back down...and fast, should take priority over everything...??
