Fishing Etiquette
I know this has been discussed before but I feel we need to talk about it until EVERYBODY get it. Yesterday, I had on two occasions another boat pulled up and fished the exact same spot I was fishing. Common sense would tells these guys to go somewhere else but noooo........they just had to do it. Also, fish care should be talk about over and over. I was releasing my live fish at the dock and it was embarrasing trying to explain to a couple that were docking their boat why so many fish died.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
I know what you mean, and agree totally. But the ediquette should go around to every boat on the lake. Sat. I was crappie fishing a channel break and doing farily well only to have two bass fisherman in a row come up and fish the channel right behind me and then around me. Casting lures with in 20' of my boat. No matter what you like to spend your time on the water doing, some of these idiots need a few lessons in manners, and common sense.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
Try fishing Waveland on the weekend in a tournament and then talk about people fishing on top of people. Every spot you go to has boats all over it just have to fish around and hope you can get close to where you want to fish.

Been there, done that, bought a t-shirt, and won't go back
Fished one tourney at Waveland and 70+ boats were stacked 6-7 deep. These spots were meant for 2-3 at the most.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
At least at Ky Lake you can find places where others aren't....even if its not exactly where you want to fish. Lakes in IN are (for the most part) so small that any tx you are in, you know going in that it will be crowded. Most of the time you can't help but to fish behind someone....or move around someone who is sitting on one spot...thats something you guys need to realize and get over. ON THE OTHER HAND, if someone gets close enough to cast within 20 feet of you when you were there first.....put on your oldest bait and let them find out if the hooks are still sharp:D

I understand and that's fine but pissed me off when they cast to the same piece of structure I was casting to.

Re: Fishing Etiquette
It really doesn't matter to me how many boats are out there. Everyone has the same right as me to be out there. But casting on top of me or anyone else is not acceptable. As for Kentucky sure there are tons of spots which isn't the issue at all if you have fished it a lot. The issue which I said makes me worry are the 75' 1.5 million dollar boats doing 35mph 20' from me. It's the 4'+ waves that are not good news. We took a wave 2 weeks ago over the front deck that actually was half way up the windshield on a 20' triton. Ledge fishing the middle of Kentucky with standing water in your boat *****!

I agree......but in some places you just have to know that there is a much better chance of being in close proximity to other boats. As far as the big boats you mentioned....no doubt that does s***! Those type of people usually have no clue what their boats/wakes do to other smaller boats....or just don't care!!!!

Re: Fishing Etiquette
These stories sure make the strip pits and a 10 foot plastic boat look wonderful. ;)
